Welcome to Comeng998 Railway Videos, On this channel you will find many videos of all rail-related transport including steam, diesel and electric rail traction from across Victoria. Also, you will find many videos of Melbourne's famous tram network. Presently, I am expanding the variation of rail transport videos beyond the border of Victoria, so stay tuned for more videos from the other side of the borders. The final area which I cover is model railways, where I have videos from major model railway exhibitions around Victoria and my own models on the Australian Model Railway Association's (AMRA) 'Stonnington Valley Railway' permanent layout. Currently our major areas in order of priority is: - Model Railway Exhibitions - Victorian Heritage and Special Movements (flexible uploading) - Transport Movements - Model Railway Reviews (3-4 scheduled a year) Thank you all for coming along to check my channel and enjoy!
G'day Comeng998, Great video and thanks for including my video the Down Town Spur, much appreciated ! It was an enjoyable weekend overall and this exhibition will be back in 2025 ! Cheers, Gary.
Thanks for the preview. This one is on my bucket list for a snoop soon, There's a few nice eateries out there for a lunch outing. Next Thursday (12th) I plan to celebrate the 170th Birthday of Railways in Victoria with a trip on Route 109, possibly all the way from the truncated Box Hill terminus to Port Melbourne. Wonder how many others will do the same resulting from my comment here. Interested?😉
The trackbed is made of a series of very very small electromagnets, which can be switched between N, S and off polarities. Each piece of rollingstock has its own permanent magnet in it's base, to interact with the trackbed. To move, each electromagnet in the trackbed is rapidly switched between N, S and O(off), so that the north polarity "moves" along the trackbed, like so: 1. N-S-O-N-S-O > 2. O-N-S-O-N-S > 3. S-O-N-S-O-N > And the wagons / trains are attracted to the north, and repelled from the south, so they keep moving with the magnetic 'current'.
Been around for ages. Mostly Triang was the affordable choice of a large British migrant population. Australian outline is becoming more popular now that there are several mainstream manufacturers.
One thing that really stands out here is the close spacing of the concrete sleepers. Must have employed a REAL track engineer here with a liberal budget. Wonder how long it will take for the rest of the network to look that good. 😉
Cheers, and that is fair. This is a chase video, which is what most of the videos on this channel usually are. Sometimes we do ride behind the specials and those are marked with the term "ride" in either the title or description. To see the locomotive cabs are usually only available during special events, like the Newport Open Weekend.
