Is it just me or did she seem to really enjoy singing A Tisket A Tasket she seems to get more animated with it then any of her other songs she seems to have had more fun
I cry every time she does this tune,I met her in l A in 1990.she was a God given sweetheart. She was exhausted .greg fields was her finial drummer and besides being a incredible drummer, buddy rich loved the man on purely a personal level. It was also her last tour. I love you mama jazz, I thank God I lived to meet you.
omg never saw this, went to school with Ray Brown Jr, real gentleman, she was such a lady and even in this she was fantastic. Damn diabetes, robs people of so much too soon.
This really blew me away. Ella was 75, could barely see, and she hits a home run. One or two talk-singy moments, but for the most part her timing and phrasing are sharp and on point. Ella's singing is so beautiful and amazing it's almost painful. There is so much truth in Ella's singing, musicianship, creativity, joy, sentimentality, poigantcy. My mind is blown away everytime I listen to Ella singing. It's like going to a museum of art, it is hard to look at everthing at one time. A break is necessary to process the beauty and a return trip is necssary.
Ella me emociona sempre...
