Hey there! I love music and playing drums. I record, tour, and teach drums. I love the community that happens around music and I hope with this channel that you get that feeling too. Thanks for watching! Please subscribe and all that stuff :D
Great playing, looks like you all had a blast! Curious about that belt pack you use, is it so you can plug that in to the mixer and get an in-ear mix instead of a monitor? Would be cool to get one of those since I don't own a wireless rig(Freakin expensive) and only get it on some gigs if it's rented/backline

The pieces that you drilled out are actually ferrules that Rogers installed to assure the alignment of the BB lugs. Not part of the original lugs. Quite easily tapped out with a screw driver or anything that fits snugly in the hole... just an FYI for next time in case you want to keep them in the event you may desire to reinstall original period correct lugs. Yes those are the original wires. Props to you for using INDe parts and not drilling the drum. You could always revisit the drum some day and find period correct parts now that you've responsibly not drilled. There is a certain charm to a luxor. They have a wonderful throaty rasp that lends very well to certain music. Nice work bringing this old drum back to life.
Well, it's ok to have a passion for drums, there is nothing wrong about that. Since you are asking if I would keep it or not, I wouldn't keep this snare, no. Why? - There is 6 lugs... not even the minimum I need which is 8, I'm not even asking for 10 lugs but 6 is the cheapest you can go with. - There is not enough projection for me or tone I have a very old Ludwig Supraphonic with the chrome going off, I did pay 40$ for it like 12 years ago. But there is 10 lugs, an interior gadget to choke the drumhead from inside, you know at least something to enjoy.
Another cool gig vlog and great playing! Are you guys going around different colleges like this and playing or is it more random gigs? Looks like a fun and hyped crowd to play to. Did some party gigs this summer and those crowds were always really hyped and fun :D
@@NilsHedstrom nice!! Thanks for watching. You understand that fun crowd engagement for sure then! Yep, lots of different colleges in the fall/ spring semesters.
@@AaronChaseDrums Well deserved, will check out more of your vids. I recently did my first tour myself so it's cool and inspirational to see other gigging/touring drummers videos
This is such good advice. Perfectly complementing a band or group like this, takes attention to detail, and consistency, even in the small things. Well done!
Yeah put the strainer on so no one is going to hear your out of tune snare drum. It's easy to know when it's off, there is no ''buzz'' when you hit the bass drum or when others musicians are playing. The simple fact that you did not hear before hitting the drumhead does tell everything I need to know about you capacity to hear details. The problem here is another of your video with the title: ''What is like to be a Pro drummer''. Come on, don't auto proclaim yourself pro, especially since many drummers are going to disagree pretty much instantly, even if you are good or even great... It's a lack of humbleness and modesty. It's preferable to let other people calling you Pro, if it ever happens of course... Playing live music with a band is of course a good start, but I certainly know a lot of ordinary drummer playing in bands. I don't remember any top drummer auto proclaiming themselves Pro, because when you are, you don't feel the need to say it.
Thanks for watching man. I appreciate it! I checked out your channel and dig your playing. Keep it up man. As for the pro stuff, I would say that if one gets paid regularly to play drums, that would make them a professional in the industry. Im definitely not trying to come off as arrogant or prideful. And as you can see from the other comments, I think we can all give each other a little bit of grace because everyone makes mistakes now and then. Have a great day Stephan! 😀
Finally someone let me out of my cage Now time for me is nothin', 'cause I'm countin' no age Now I couldn't be there, now you shouldn't be scared I'm good at repairs, and I'm under each snare
Yeah I was at a jazz band contest and had a solo part at the very beginning of a song... Now I habitually check bc I dont want that to ever happen again.
Very nice! What crash are you using in this? I've got a 24" 30th ride and 16" hats with a Traditional 20" Dark Crash and 22" Xist Dry Dark Brilliant. Amazing sounding cymbals.
@@AaronChaseDrums Awesome! I got my Xist from Nelson a few weeks ago. Your drums sound great - keep it up! I might pick your brain on your mics and recording equipment.
@@AaronChaseDrums will definitely have to pick up a pair when I get some money for them. Great sound and Cool upload as well my friend, God bless and have a good day 🤘
