So sad that the time wasn't right for Adrian back then. But thanks to that Iron Maiden got the best songwriter they ever could have got. Anyway, we will never know what urchin could have reached any other time. ❤ Adrian Smith ❤
Adrian guitar playing... Paul's singing and Clive's drumming are the best part of Maiden...too bad we couldn't have gotten a second album with all 3 on it...
😂😂😂 I tried to convince my boyfriend to name our son Adrian after H, that was my first suggestion! He wasn't down with that (he is not a maiden fan at all...) but we went with Odin, so I was ok with that. Hey, at least I got to name my first dog Bruce! 😂 Bruce Doginson...😂🤘
Fukkin Rod Smallwood 😛 - the double voices at the chorus are sounding like The Eagles - Dennis Stratton might dig this song. Smith and Stratton always were in good terms, and Dennis doesn't ever think that Smith was after his position 🙂
ughh i absolutely ADORE this song. if this is adrian singing (i believe it is? i havent heard him sing enough to really recognize his voice) his voice is beautiful. by far one of my favorite guitarists, hes such a skilled player its genuinely insane.
Janick Gers was with White Spirit for their debut album and that album was an absolute gem! I got it on CD and play it all the time. Sadly the band never got the love they deserved! High Upon High, Red Skies, Way of The Kings, and Don’t Be Fooled are absolutely amazing and show his real talent!
I found out in ’09 that I have MS. Now it isn’t the same that it was way back when, and I love the fact that the fandom still rember Clive. Amazing Drummerboy he was. ❤️
Remember seeing you live with Urchin in the ‘70s both when you had a keyboard player and without. You had a nice gold top LP. Took time working the harmony solos on this. Nice chatting with you at the bar afterwards about harmony progression. 👍🏻
Im addicted to this song. Reminds me so much of early maiden. Love it so much. Adrian's vocals are similar to Paul D.'s. sometimes Dickinsons are too high for my liking.
was he saying jannick? both are such nice guys for all their talent. adrian wrote a book on fishing monsters of river and rock about life as an angler and rocker.
Adrian is exactly describing how the music comes out of you when you grab your guitar and play riffs, parts, flat picking, etc. and record the stuff. That is how music is made once you sort out the parts and add lyrics to a very good concept. Most bands will not teach you this stuff unless you pay for a book of theirs. At this time, everything was on the verge of going from analog to digital. I dearly love this era of Maiden and all their songs before and after. Janick is an awesome showman and musician. Maiden has always hade really great members from Paul, Clive, and Blaze, to the present lineup. Right now with the 6 members they sound great as ever and now with Bruce being a 4 Engine jet pilot, they have even more freedom to go places that no metal band has gone before. If I was on a desert island with a solar powered media player that could only have 1 album, mine would be either Live After Death in Long Beach Arena and the Dortman second disc addition, or Somewhere Back in Time with Wasted Years and some 7th Son.
