Helmcken Falls Yes, but it is a gnarly hike down there and once down there you have to scramble over large boulders to get to the base of the falls. The mist of the falls keeps the rocks very slippery as you get closer to the water. Dawson Falls you can get in behind the falls this was filmed at high water but later in summer the stream flow is far less.
There are many cool places in BC to explore, I have a couple fire towers I want to check out this summer in South East BC. We also have a couple weddings in Kamloops to attend this summer so maybe we will get in some wheeling then.
I wanted something original. A friend of the family made the compass for me. It is original work that I commissioned so when it comes to making logo wear and stickers I don't have to worry about copyrighted material. Nobody has told me it sucks yet 😀
Yes "Old Trustworthy AKA Princess" probably would not pass the Alberta vehicle inspection to register it here and I did not want to drive or trailer it to Alberta.
Yes, Kamloops is the most northern finger of the desert that runs north from California through Washington. Kelowna is part of it too but the lake keeps the area greener. It is quite ecologically diverse with desert in the valley and boreal forest once you gain elevation in the hills.
@@brbadventurerMr BRB.. is it possible to get the build info and video on that Suzuki Samurai.. what was upgraded to hang with the big dawgs.. Thank you
Hey, you got a great view of the Sami! It is stil the stock 1.3, but has the 6-1 ratio in the transfer case, high stear, 31” rubber, locked in the rear. Breeze shackles. The diesel swap is coming soon.
4:47 ***UPDATE*** The pole that was jammed up I have fixed, I was able to free the stuck pole by inserting a wrench in front of the plastic clip and whacked the wrench with a hammer until the clip was free. Then I put a few wraps of black electrical tape on the pole to prevent the clip from sliding past that point.
@jamiebostian8210 Thanks for the comment. I have also found that if the tent is bone dry and warm it packs up better. It seems the floor is hard to compress if it is cold. Recently we had to pack up from a rainy camping trip so we packed the tent wet, but when we got home I set the tent up in the back yard to dry out. It was really easy to put away after sitting in the sun for a few hours.
I have 4 of these tents for our family to use. 3 x 8 man and 1 x 10 man version Never had an issue with the extention of poles nor keeping warm in the tent. It is only a 3 season tent after all. The front part where the pole is isn't a vestibule, its simply a arch over the roof. If you wipe the dirt off the feet before folding them in, i use a small broom, it stays clean.
You are welcome, if you notice it starting to be come squeaky after a few uses the extra sheet makes a big difference. Happy trails, we hope to get out camping soon our selves.
It seems that if the tarp like material of the floor is cold it does not compress very well. We camp in Canada at higher elevations and the mornings tend to be cold (10° - 15° C) the tent compresses better when it is warm and bone dry.
I was loosing a liter of oil for one tank of gas. That old saying check the gas fill the oil was not far off for us. I discovered the leak on our way to Alberta. I kept my eye on it but what a mess under the Jeep, well Anvil Annie is well rust proofed now at least 🙂 But $12 a bottle of synthetic 5W-20 was getting expensive.
