I was in Copenhagen just a week ago and even though I haven't watched your video, I packed some of the essentials you talked about! I was also very lucky because it seemed that I brought the Greek sunshine to Denmark, we didn't have rain at all for five days! Definitely coming back to revisit and will keep your recommendations handy!
I think color preferences in fashion are totally influenced by where you live. In South Asia and Latin America, where I've lived, there is a riot of color everywhere. Turquoise and cerulean sky and water, brilliant scarlett and fushia and emerald green and yellow fluorescent flora and wildlife. Even the food is bright with spices. Wearing muted colors there would feel so blah. But I can understand how in Scandanavia muted colors would work with the softer colors of the landscape there.
Some parts of Canada are as you describe but living here on the West Coast, the climate is very different. I live on Vancouver Island and our summers are usually not super hot or humid and the Fall and Winter is rainy. I’m originally from Finland and not afraid of cold winters but here we rarely get snow. 😊
Greetings Signe, So great to see you again! It would be so helpful to share sustainable knitwear brands that ship to United States🇺🇸 You look amazing! Such an exciting time in your life💕
Awesome video. Really nice to see you back. Awesome review. Great model shots. Love it. Thank You so much for sharing darling. Have a great week dear LYXBAGS
I returned from Copenhagen 2 days ago. The city is beautiful. I love the way women dress and the way they do their makeup. I bought 2 pairs of boots that I had never seen before in other countries. Next time, I'll buy myself a handbag there. Do you know any Danish companies that made handbags in a minimalist style? Any recommendations please?
I love it all…❤. Thank you for your hard work. My wardrobe is coming along super nicely you have inspired me so much. My list of things to purchase this Fall/Winter season is so short this year. I live in a small condo in California and I have slowly been removing things I don’t use. I apply the same technique throughout our seasons which means I’m just very mindful of what I use on a consistent basis. I lean toward specific colors and now I no longer need an extra zip pouch under my bed for extra clothes. I have found great solutions for minimizing my wardrobe but still maintaining the quality I prefer. Even my accessories like handbags and jewelry have a real purpose, over just having some pretty things I never use. ❤❤❤❤❤
it's great to see PetiteKnit here - Danish knitting patterns are some of the most popular in the world (I also knit). I lived in Stockholm for 5 years and what surprised me at first was that women wore looser cuts, not men. In Poland, where I come from, it's rather the opposite.
I loved It. I'm part Norwegian, German and Scottish, I've only been to England. So I'm excited to learn more about other European counties, such as Denmark also. I hope to travel overseas next year sometime. I liked all the outdoor scenes and Danish lifestyle you made it so entertaining to learn about. (Norwegian sweaters, wow). Thank you.
What a nice video! Really enjoyed watching it! :) I've been a fan of Scandinavian fashion for years now and honestly think that's the most suitable fashion choice for me personally. I appreciate French and Italian designers but I can never see myself wearing their pieces cause it always seems a bit too much for me, though I always appreciate their craftsmanship and omg those Italian ladies wearing bold colours :)
Even the monarchy seems to me more relaxed I visited coppenhagen in April and I was impressed by the cosy look of the king and is beautiful wife, compare to English monarchy the are more naturel, sporty and kind of outdoor style with family. And you’re right people seem confortable In theirs clothes and nature like style I feel at home …❤
This was my FAVORITE video from you! Every element you explained resonated SO much with me, my style, lifestyle, etc here in NW USA. I loved the bits of history/why behind the styles as well. Thank you!!❤
I was feeling so Fall-ish lately, until it went back to 93 degrees today 😢 I stream so many great shows on MHZ Choice and see beautiful Scandi style. ❤ You’re looking great!
I've been looking for a trench coat that would suit me for a long while, but unfortunately if I find anything that I like and it's within my budget, it's always made of polyester. So I've given up and bought a cotton cargo jacket instead. However, I haven't had the chance to wear it yet, as in Central Europe we still have summer weather...
I just had a color analysis done and it validated what I already knew. And I decided to keep baby blue and mustard yellow even though they’re not in my palette! Somehow knowing why they don’t work the same as other colors makes me feel better about wearing them anyway.
Signe, I read some time ago that Scandinavians are less likely to want to stick out; that they are okay or even want to be like everybody else in a non-elitist way, e.g. so as to not show off wealth, elevate themselves above others etc. Would you subscribe to that theory?
I think you may be thinking of Law Of Jante (janteloven) which is commonly known in Scandinavian societies, more as a “you shouldn’t think you’re better than anyone” kind of mindset. So I do recognise it yes, especially having grown up in a small community where this way of thinking is very common. It’s a mindset for both good and bad, I think many scandis would agree 😅 it’s good to be humble for sure, but at the same time why shouldn’t you be allowed to “think big” and outside the box sometimes, you know? 😊 but an interesting cultural topic for sure! I haven’t read it all the way through but found this article which explains it: www.scandinaviastandard.com/what-is-janteloven-the-law-of-jante/
Great tips for any minimalist wardrobe in this video. I've noticed in the past few years I want functionality over trendy particularly in footwear and outer wear. I think this could be your influence 😊
Another wonderful video - thank you! While watching, I had a "lightbulb moment" and noticed many similarities between Danish/Scandinavian priorities and what I see in my home, Portland, Oregon (U.S.). Specifically, the focus on functionality, access to nature/outdoors, and bikes. Grateful for where I live : )
Loved this video! It's so refreshing and the styles you've shown are beautiful and attainable. In an internet full of "how to have French girl style" this is by far one of my favorite fashion inspiration videos I've seen in a long time. Thanks so much for this perspective. I've really always worn these types of items - didn't know I was channeling "Scandi style" 😊
