I created this channel because my trucks have been on-going projects. If you own a 5th generation Toyota 4Runner (2010 to present), or a 2nd generation Toyota Tundra (2007 to 2021), and you're looking to make some changes, maybe you'll find some of those modifications on this channel.
If any of these videos are useful, please like and share them. Enjoy!!!
Hey bro I just purchased these same tow mirrors. I have a quick question. To get the outside mirror amber lights to illuminate when I have my headlights on, do I have to do any wiring or is it plug and play? I watched the links to the videos you posted in other peoples comments but I don't get a clear answer. My tundra is a 17' SR5. Thanks.
Yes, extra wiring is required for the ambers to work. Plug and play will give you turn-signals, electronic mirror adjustment, and heat. The extra wiring will give you the ambers, the reverse lights, and the blind-spot mirrors. Those links you see in the other comments show you how to do the wiring. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8epW-VJOPi8.htmlsi=3_5SoWN3ohGr_GWn ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zyQsIM_IgWk.htmlsi=XnE5ibVSyUbnnQj_ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9sdZ52Zbd-0.htmlsi=pDMB5J2Rnwq9Xtk1
Im always preferential to 2Tones. Its hard to find anything that black accents doesnt go good with. Have you considered blacking out the fender flares to match the accenting?
I always say "to each their own." You like two tones, and that's okay. I like the color-matched look, and that's okay. My fender flares were black originally. Since color-matching is my thing, I painted them. Check out the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HgIo3GyG7Rg.htmlsi=x_E-2jdCIm1dQxvQ
I'm a year late, but better late than never! Love your video. I love how you structured it and tailored it to your style, but made everyone else feel relatable. My cut off is probably $300. The problem with that cutoff is my main resource puts me on Amazon. I know a lot of people love their products, but my '16 SR5 is now the nicest thing I've owned, so I want to put similar quality onto it. Thanks again for your video! I'ma check out the rest of your vids now
Thanks for your feedback, man! A lot of people's cut-offs seem to be around $300 to $600. I understand what you mean about having a low cut-off, but wanting high quality. In that case, you just have to wait and save up for the higher quality mods.
Your channel is phenomenal, thank you for creating such great Tundra content. Rookie question, where did you get the paint to match your tundra. I have the same color and want to give this project a shot. Thank you!
Thanks for the positive feedback. The colour-code for the body paint is on the panel of the front driver's side door, right next to the tire pressure. If your Tundra's paint is also Magnetic Grey, the code is 1G3. You can get that automotive paint from just about any hardware store.
All three look good. I would have sprayed them with a black metallic paint or gloss black and then the clear. 3000 light sand n buff. They would have popped out more and given it a more appealing look
It's funny, I've had some people DMing me on IG and TIKTOK saying that I should have left them chrome, or left them colour-matched, and I shouldn't have bought black handles. To each their own, I guess. Yes, I decided to skip the wet-sanding and paint on the handles this time around.
man i would love to put an cold air intake for my 2016 tundra but can't cause i live in california and apparently it's not allowed but did had it on my ridgeline when i had it before trading it in for the tundra
That's because you're a responsible human being!!! I know a ton of guys that would still put on the CAI, regardless of the law. The good thing for you is that you won't be paying any fines! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
@@toyotaFANatic81 yea exactly, even though i want too hella bad but i think installing the Pedal Commander will do lol have good man, enjoy your weekend
@@toyotaFANatic81 What do you know of the existing problems with Tundra's ?(P2443 Secondary Air Intake pump) I just got the Code and am beyond warranty. I bought my Tundra 2007 New and have never had a problem with it. This pops up and I found that it's an existing problem. Toyota extended the warranty for 10 years because of the recurring problem . It should have been a recall.
Sorry, man. I'm not very familiar with that code. Luckily, aside from having to replace the A/C compressor, I haven't really had any problems with the truck (*knock on wood*). There should be LOTS of information online on how to deal with that issue or remove the code.
Just installed these same shocks on my 2016 tundra, replacing the pro comp shocks I installed 3 years ago. Thank you so much, I did not know how to place the washer and grommet. Your video made the difference.
Icon is a GREAT brand for suspension components, including shocks. If your icon shocks are old (or leaking), and they need to be replaced, then definitely change them out. You can use the link in my video to purchase the V2 shocks. If they're still good, I'd leave them on the truck. Even though it doesn't necessarily help me (or the channel) to say this, ICON is a good brand.
Thank yoouuuu. I don’t really work on my own vehicles and was intimidated. I watched your video while I did it and it was super easy. I appreciate these DIY videos
I didn't make a video on the suspension lift alone, but the link below will show you most of the mods, including the Rough Country 6" Lift ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8ykn44c1tcQ.htmlsi=Jpm8Ki0mmVyUC3Du
Love the video. Thanks. Have you made a video showing the details of your grill blackout? How's it holding up? I just bought a 2021 and I'd like to get rid of the chrome.
The video was one of my early ones and it was so badly filmed that I canned it. The Painting Process: - Lightly sanding the grille (800-grit) - 2 coats of primer - 3 or 4 coats of base (black sand pearl) - 4 to 6 coats of acrylic clear coat - Leave over night (or for 12 hours) to allow the clear coat to harden
7 months ago I bought a 2016 1794 edition tundra 200k mi very good condition besides some corrosion and very minor nicks and scratches in the paint. I’m 18 and work the truck pretty hard (a lot of towing and hauling). Not sure where to start Any recommendations on first mods
Congrats on your Tundra purchase. 1794s are beautiful trucks (top trim level). Your question is a bit tough to answer because vehicle mods are such a personal and individual thing. There are mods that increase performance, and there are mods that improve appearance. Having said all of that, most guys, whether they use their truck for work or pleasure, start with new wheels and tires. That's an example of a place that you can start.
Once I finish the tires that came on the truck I’ll definitely be investing in new wheels and tires. Does your truck sound the same in person as it sounds on video? Also did you install it yourself?
I'm assuming by "it" you mean the exhaust. The truck sounds better in person (louder). That particular mod I had installed at a garage. I have no welding equipment.
