Whoever you are and wherever you may be, make something and have fun with it. I just so happen to build and paint miniatures, making a terrible mess out of perfectly decent things.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. It's definitely fiddly. It's probably something that would pay off better doing a whole squad or two at a time, rather than one or two models. I do think the results are worth it and it's cheaper than using Green Stuff and Milliput if sculpting clay isn't your thing.
I think you did very well man and I never even thought that ...what was it again cheesecloth?? I'm Canadian so we might have something similar, but as a huge Dark Angels fan!!!! that's awesome man. FYI, I'm currently making out of a Horus heresy for 40K fallen Dark Angels Army mixture mk6 Marines, MK3 Marines and a few sprinkles of primaris Marines but all in the fallen colors majority of them with green stuff. Cloaks, tabards and a few Marines were just hooded helmets, but I heavily used a lot of the Dark Angels accessories sprues from over the years
Thank you. Really appreciate you having a look. What I used is specifically "Butter Muslin" which has a tighter weave than cheesecloth, but I don't see why you couldn't use cheesecloth. I've updated the description and pinned comment with a link to the specific item I'm using so that should help you out. Hope this helps you with your minis 😎

Probably would have scratched abit less and added a few spikes , to show they have spent abit "too much" time in the warp or placing a corpse below him to show he has just concquered a foe and has to move on to the next
@@mrsituation1000 That's a good idea. I didn't want these guys to have too many spikes, but I might do that on some of the other members of the squad. Having a vanquished foe is pretty cool and would add a lot of character to him. I've not made their bases yet so it's still an idea to use.
I am relatively new to making these videos, sometimes I find it difficult to convey my thoughts properly. In what ways does this not change anything, considering this is from the viewpoint of someone who has never reposed a limb before. I am always striving to improve, so if you could provide any specific information then I would be very grateful. Thanks
@@CursedCrusaderArts It's a well-made video and a really cool conversion! The issue is that the thumbnail is a bit click-baity. It implies that it changes things for the *viewer,* as if it were a new conversion technique, when in fact your process is pretty normal. It's a solid tutorial and the end results look great, so you're doing pretty well on that front!
Thank you for the feedback. When I made the thumbnail, I did not consider how it would read to someone else, instead I was caught up in my own excitement. As I said before, I'd not successfully reposed a limb before so it changed everything from my perspective. I can see now how this comes across differently to the viewer as opposed to my own view so I'll work to put more thought into it and do better in the future. Thanks for watching the video and for taking the time to explain to me how to do better. Really appreciate it. 😎
That sounds awesome, the Ogryns have to be one of my favourite kits by citadel. They're compatible with so many things. When I was a kid I used to make chaos Ogryns from the Fantasy Ogres for extra brutality points. You can do it, make some cool minis.
BEGINNER'S Guide To REPOSING Miniatures With Amazing Results! Sometimes we make mistakes but often these mistakes open up opportunities to try something new. Nice one big boy, welcome back it’s been a few weeks now hope everything is going okay and you still got your chin up. May I suggest next time using a needle? Beading needles a thin(very thin) and flexible also, might save you some time in the future!
Thank you! It's good to be back and my head is back on my shoulder facing the wrong direction. I hadn't thought about beading needles before so that's a great shout, I'll have to remember that for the other minis. You know me though, after 5 minutes of fighting that thread, I was on a personal vendetta! 😅
The fallen have always been one of my favourite factions ever since i learnt about them. Cool knight dark angels but mixed with chaos doing their own thing and building empires sign me up ! I have the HH age of darkness box that i will one day get around to using as the base of my own Fallen army, so would love to see how you handle making cloaks
The Fallen are really interesting and quite complex. I also love how divided they are from those who thought they were right by following Luthor and now some of them have actually descended into full chaos worship like the Daemon Prince Marbas.

I love the information that you give out in your videos about your painting choices it tells me me that some real thought has gone into this process instead of “oh I’ll paint it this colour “ definitely worth wasting my time on every time. Pardon the corrections but I'm a bit of a stickler . If your white is chalky then that is a blow quality paint and should never be used. The chalkiness is caused by fillers such as kaolin and chalk. The chalkiness comes from chalk. Chalk is an opacifier and white isn't exactly an opaque pigment. White paint does not use pigments that are more difficult to break down at all as pigments do not break down at all, dyes are the ones that break down. I would highly recommend looking at either golden highflow titanium white or holbein ink super opaque white. If you require matte white then golden soflat or turner acrylic gouache and if those arent available liquitex acrylic gouache. Professional grade whites really show the flaws in hobby paints since hobby paints are based off the BASF recipe for interior decoration paint(house paint) But in anycase using brown over black is a brilliant suggestion and it works for all colors as it gives a similar effect to black but is much easier to paint over.
This is really interesting, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. If you have some resources I could look at for more information, I would love to learn more from it. Also, I'm glad you like the choice of using brown as a basecoat. It was more of an experiment at the time but I thought it turned out pretty good. Thanks for sticking around and watching.

Kind of, my next video will still use it a s a flying base though. Either way, there are still many different ways they can be used, aside from their intended purpose. However they're used, it's still better than throwing them away.
