This is true mastery: Full self-confidence, projection of a beautiful tone, complete control of the instrument, spot-on intonation, expert navigation of the song, leadership of the combo, professional attire.
Thanks for posting! So cool to see him exploring the theme of Speak the Name solo. It’s one of the many mind bending and beautiful tunes on his Chants album.
Fabulous! What a solo. so much power and musicality from such a small kit. Mr Creemers and his fellow Drumbassador Wim de Vries are, in my humble opinion, two of the finest drummers we have.
Goosebumps, amazing musicianship, gorgeous melodies and incredible solo's. Definitely the surprise, and for many the highlight, of the festival. Standing ovation from the packed venue totally deserved!
Wow! Ive been following Rene for a few years now but unfortunately he's not putting much out these days. That was great - and I especially enjoyed Jerome's guitar work. The band deserve more attention for sure
Mr. Herring used to play in front of the Plaza hotel in the early 80s ...always impeccably dressed and dignified ...the big bills would come out because a dollar would have seemed like an insult to such an accomplished musician.
Vincent sounds incredible as always. He's got all of the attributes you want in a saxophonist...a big pretty sound, soul, flawless technique and he swings.
First became aware of the very talented Vincent Herring when he was in the Cannonball Adderley Tribute band at Newport Jazz Festival some years ago. Good to hear him and this group.
File that under the "What just happened?" category of drum solos. My jaw is still on the floor. And those other two guys ain't bad either. I love how Renee is playing with his son on bass and he is killing it!
Vincent wanted to play this song in a small line-up. Richie Reichgelt played guitar in other songs and also Tom van der Zaal on sax. see ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-19tzjqb4-ZM.html
That was one of his main idols and chief influences, so much so that he was more than able to team up comfortably with trumpeter Nat Adderley, brother of Cannonball. The brothers played ably together before the passing first of Julian, saxman extraordinaire.
