i use the app VN for ios, but i also used to use kinemaster for android! there's a feature that i think is called "picture in picture" that lets me add the faces overtop a video. basically, you move the faces around by choosing where the face will move to at multiple points in the clip. and how smooth it looks just depends on how meticulous you are with each point of movement. it's a bit hard to explain in text, but try and look up tutorials about "picture in picture" and you'll see it in action!
