I am here to share two of my main passions: cooking and fitness. In terms of cooking, I focus on traditional Southern and Argentine recipes. As a chef, my style is to modify traditional recipes to be healthier and more flavorful while staying true to tradition and not sacrificing taste.
Since I am passionate about two cuisines, it is interesting to see how two cultures, two languages, and two gastronomies influence my approach to cooking.
I am also fascinated by food history and nutritional anthropology, so I love researching the history behind the development of recipes. If you like step-by-step tutorials on how to make unique, traditional Southern and Argentine / South American recipes, ranging from collard greens and cornbread to dulce de membrillo and chimichurri, be sure to subscribe to my channel.
I would think 20-30 minutes. My recommendation would be to start checking them at the 20-minute mark: if the crust is golden brown and the filling is just slightly jiggly, they're done. Let me know how your mini cottage cheese pies turn out 👨🍳
I can’t wait to make this and I greatly appreciated all of your cooking tips as well. The only problem is that your voice literally hurts my ears. Perhaps you could get professional help to improve your videos.
I love how your pie turned out. I love all things lemon. The nutmeg was a nice addition. Table cream is new to me. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing, Parnell!
Man oh man, you make something so simple in to a very boring video, you would think you're talking to mentally challenged people. Whew, get over yourself.
Hi Chef Parnell, Oh does this lemon cream pie look scrumptious. I’ll enjoy making it and eating it for sure. The only thing that I would eliminate from recipe is the nutmeg but cinnamon is great. We dont get along at all, lol!! I’m going to see if I can find the cream from a store near by but if not, I’ll use one of your options. If only we could go,thru the screen and taste a piece of pie or any of your recipes. ……a piece right now sounds wonderful, 😋😋 Thanks so much for sharing. It’s always fun to try one of your recipe. Have a blessed and beautiful week.😊
Hi, Kathy! If you like lemon, then you'll love this pie. Whether you use nutmeg or cinnamon, the little bit of extra spice will go a long way in really taking this dessert to the next level. I've always found Table Cream (Media Crema) at Latin markets or major retailers, so I hope you can find it--it's a great ingredient. I wish I could share a piece with you! Let me know what you think--and thanks for watching and commenting! 🍋🥧👨🍳😀👍
Just use salted butter in the recipe and then you don’t have to go back and add more salt later on just eliminate as many steps as possible and for dump cakes you’re not supposed to mix them up after you layer everything in the pan😢and i would use 2 teaspoons of espresso powder instead of instant coffee or you can add just 1/4 cup of extra strong, hot coffee

I know it sounds like a lot of sugar, but without it, the filling is going to be a bit thin. You might be able to add an extra egg or two, but I wouldn't use less than 1 cup of sugar. 🥧👨🍳
You know, I made a pecan pie previous to this recipe. Turned out like a hockey puck!! So I was really hoping and praying to the pie gods that this one would work out. I did notice in the video that there was more crust than pie filling, so I had doubled the filling. And let me tell you!? This recipe is now etched in stone, and I will always use it!! I was really skeptical. But DAM this pie is insane!!!! The filling is so rich it's like candy! Totally worth doubling the filling. THANK YOU! SUCH A BOMB RECIPE!!!
Hi! I'm sorry to hear that the other recipe didn't work out, but I'm glad you loved this one! I could see doubling the filling to make it thicker--did that change the baking time? I've made other pecan pies before, but like you said, this one is truly outstanding--it's the best! Thanks for the kind words 🌰🥧👨🍳😀
This is awesome, I was looking for a way to use up my frozen strawberries that didn't involve turning it all into froyo or ice cream I thought the darker center lookes like a soggy upper crust, but I can see that's not the case at all, definetly gonna try this recipe! :)
Awesome! Please let me know what you think--and you're right, the darker center isn't because it's soggy--it's because it's super juice. I know you'll love this pie when you try it 👨🍳😀
I know you will! The roasted nuts are super flavorful, and the fact that they're chopped makes it easy to slice and serve this pie. Let me know how it turns out! 🌰🥧👨🍳
Hi Chef Parnell The coconut sold me! Lol….I love it. This fudge oops so delicious and a wonderful sweet treat. Oh boy, you made the fudge the easiest to make esp with three ingredients. I can’t wait to make this…I’ll be in trouble eating it but once in awhile is okay. I’m making my own excuses to enjoy n have reasons for it to be okay for it to disappear, 😂. It came out great! Thanks so much again for sharing your best recipes always with us. Have a fantastic and blessed week.
Hi, Kathy! If you like coconut, then you'll definitely like this recipe--and like you said, it's super easy. Thanks for watching and commenting as always. I appreciate the support! 🥥👨🍳😀👍
