One of two. Sandy Amoros made his own tremendous catch in the 7th game of the 1955 World Series, robbing Yogi Berra of extra bases and at least two runs in the sixth inning of that game. Amoros came off the bench to replace Jim Gilliam, who moved over to second base. Berra hit a fly ball down the leftfield line; Amoros came running towards the leftfield foul line, stuck out his gloved (right) hand, and made the catch. Amoros whirled and threw the ball to shortstop Pee Wee Reese, who in turn, fired the ball to first baseman Gil Hodges, doubling up the Yankees Gil McDougald, who had wandered too far past second base. That play stymied the Yankees best scoring chance, and preserved Johnny Podres' shutout as as the Dodgers won 2-0, giving the team their lone World Series title while based in Brooklyn.
