Well, that didnt work I purchased ribbon cables from amazon and soldering tips I am pretty handy guy but this repair was unsuccessful. I cleaned very well and I aligned correctly. I dont know if m amazon ribbon cable was garbage but this did not work for me I went from few missing pixels to missing 95% of them 0 stars. Would not recommend
Do you know why the old screens fail and if they are fixable? Why is the replacement part so expensive? Is the replacement part the same screen or a slightly different one? If it's exactly the same, won't it just fail again?
Sweet.. had mine out today. I'm going to go get the ribbon kit. It's a good idea to replace the little bulbs inside too while you have it all apart. Most of them are blown
You did a great job making this video. Nice work! So about that replacement ribbon cable…it uses GLUE to attach the display to the circuit board? It is not solder? Or do the ribbon cable pads have solder on them as well, which melts when you use the T-Tip on the soldering iron?
Yes, great video. I am also interested which pins you connect to test the unit. Further: in have replacement led lichtbulb, the can only be installed in one way. Very curious to find out how to connect 12v to the unit to also install the new led light bulbs.

When you put black in the car it is just plug and play. It should work correctly. Unless if you turned Key without instrument cluster fittted it might need to clear error codes, like immo (car wont start)
Yes and no. It depends how they are done. I ve done few ones years ago and still not failed.... If done the correct way they wont break.......It is possible crack at diferent places....
