What a wonderful song of Rocky Frisco ... it is helping me, if sad ... his voice and piano-playing is going deep inside... R.I.P. Rocky ! ... Thinking of him, I also think of his company with friend and band-guy JJ Cale ... he passed away 7 years ago 2013, July 26th ... R.I.P. JJ .... I'm thinking of both with her unforgetable music!!!!
Thanks Michael for sharing this concert! So often I'm seeking JJ on RU-vid and hear my many Albums! Greetings from Germany - Günther (we know us from Yahoo-group JJ Cale)
Again and again I hear Rocky ... I like his solo music and also his componay with JJ Cale. In his band I found Rocky long years ago. Thanks Michael for sharing this music ... Tears in my eyes !
Well - consider this: The recording was done by the keyboard player (Rocky Frisco, RIP) and it was 1994; the video quality is expected to be this way from an old Hi-8 video tape after years of sitting on a shelf. Be happy you got to see this. And, you're welcome.
I bounced around Google and found: Double Diamond 450 S Galena St. Aspen Co. They opened in '93', I believe and closed down in Sept 2003. Thanx for this show Michael, vids of JJ Cale shows are far & few between (I played with my EQ a bit and the music quality is just fine!).
I just learned of Rocky's death today when I tried to email him and no address left. He left an impact on all of our lives. I moved away from Tulsa in '78 to far away in WA state, but he and I got back in contact via MySpace in '08 and then also email. Today has mostly been spent in youtubes of him, a writing of his that I have, and thoughts. Thank you for posting this. I never saw that many pics of him before. He was an outstanding man and I'm glad you had him as a mentor/father. God rest his soul.
