An important note on deselection: I've found that I must release CTRL first, Then release The Shift key else it will simply select rather than deselect.
The specs, still confusing. 3mm hole, is that what effectively be measured, I mean ,will it measure 3mm in the 360 degrees perimeter,or instead it just can be detected but cannot be measured reliably. One thing is detect something with a know measurement of X , and a different thing is some of X diameter can be effectively measured that it has 3mm diameter.
Got one for the business - Cracking scanner, can't fault the end result. From a UI perspective they made a big play about the haptic feedback but.. have yet to fix error 167 where the feedback doesn't actually work. The last update on the customer portal was June and we're now in knocking on November.
Super cool! Is there a version that includes just the window frames (no infill I'm assuming for clear resin printing) for us FDM users? Would be nice to have the just the silver frame or the frames and a template for cutting out our own windows. :3 Either way, always wanted this car and this is the only way my parnter will allow me to get one!
I was redirected here by Creaform, they had heavy marketing on thingiverse which was very weird because I thought since it is on thingiverse that means it is an "Affordable" 3D Scanner, so I went through the website and the long survey to know the price and I was slapped with a 21000 EUR, so anyways they contact me two days later about me being interested in Creaform scanners, I told them their entry level is outside my budget range, they then directed me to a more "entry level" scanner from Peel 3D, as much as I liked this extremely biased video and the capabilities, this is NOT an entry level scanner. for an "Introductory" price of 11990 USD for the Peel scanner with a perpetual license for the software that doesn't include updates, it is more expensive than the Shinning 3D Einscan HX that sells for "Only" 9,990 USD ... but!! includes the software for FREE! and comes with a travel case for FREE, and been in the market for a while now and tons of reviews that praises that scanner. When I added the Peel 3 to see what options are available, there were many choices that made me think about the direction of this product, but one thing that really turned off my interest is the "Manual" turn table that goes for 145 USD .. I am sorry for the above, your product might be amazing, might be better than the Einscan HX but please tell your people to stop the marketing campaigns, it really made me waste my time answering a survey and then being directed to a product that is out of my range, and honestly depressing that these products are still out of reach for small businesses.
What about the color accurancy? Can I scan for example the armour of a samurai and have color fidelity in the resulting 3D model? The 3D model must be showed on the website of an art gallery.
Colors are calibrated on an artifact during the calibration process of the scanner and the scanner proceeds to a white balance when performing its own calibration optimisation. We do all we can to make the colors are realistic as possible but this device should not be considered a colorimetry device. You can find several samples on our peel 3d sketchfab account.
We researched other scanners out there. I don't know where you have been looking but, this is a entry level scanner and it is really a step up from their competitors. Another brand we looked at started at 10k but would required two different scanners to do what this one does. So, for 15k with the auto cad. It is well worth it as a small business. other options are of a much higher cost and detail and they go well above 20k

What is the time it took to make the scan look like it did at 8:08 to 8:11? I'm hitting a plateau of quality in my scan at about 70-80% complete on detail (slightly better than the scan at 8:08). Is there a technique for collecting the rest of the data?

Love these videos. Only suggestion is, when you go to click on a function have a pop up message as to what this does and why. For example when you click on the tube and selecting only that surface to slow down there so we have a sec to see what you clicked on. It takes longer for me to follow along in my program having to stop and reverse and play or even slow down to even catch what you clicked on.
Hello, yes in the software peel 2 CAD, you will be able to transfer the file into Solidworks or Autodesk. You can also export the file in .igs, .stp. file
