A Final Fantasy XIV Fisher creating guides on how to fish all the fish of The Source and The First, in quick, goldfish sized videos. Making FFXIV fishing easier to do and understand.
Finally got my ruby dragon this weekend. Had a really good prep with 3 ku'er in my pocket. Had a 7 chain mooch, used all pocketed fish, burned all my AA and most of gp to finally pull ruby with a last ditch mooch 2
I caught Ruby Dragon and Egg before this bastard ☠️ finally got it today after it already slipped twice in the window and didn’t even show for the last few windows swim bait really helped with the RNG and lack of Sardines 😭
This skill would have been so useful/helpful to have while attempting to catch the Serpent of Ronka! Ironically, Ronka was the first big fish I ever attempted, and what sent me down this mad path.
My buddies who dont fish were baffled and why i jumped for joy when i saw spareful hand, as someone whos decided on the insane task of catching one of every fish in this game mooching has haunted my nightmares for years, and now i can prep in advance for most every fish that involves it and pull my hair out less
This skill alone has been a godsent for catching some big fish. Especially for Serpent of Ronka. Being able to catch and store 4 eryops before the window even starts and then getting 4 attempts to catch priest!
rest assured even with all the shiny new buttons this stupid fish has evaded my grabby hands for 2 months (and for 9 months on/off before that) this dragon hates me
Hello Fruity, this video has been super enlightening, would you at one point by re-making or re-evaluating this tier list with the introduction of the Dawntrail fsh skills? I started big fishing this expansion and lures and swimbaits have helped me IMMENSELY while introducing new technical ways in each some of these fish can be prepped/caught.
Two windows, 1 Giant Takitaro. In other news, 3 windows for Warden of the Seven Hues - didn't even catch enough to get intuition. I guess I deserve this from catching all the other Feast of Famine fish in one try 🤷 EDIT: Got it on the 6th window. Just had to complain🤷
Commenting to please the algorithm deities. Thank you so much for your guides! They're very clear, and I appreciate that they come with video and text both. I like to try catch fish without outside help first, and then I check out guides if I don't make progress (or after I've caught a fish just to see what other ways there might be). Today I finally caught Steth, and I don't think I would've ever done it without your guide. The collector's glove trick is genious. The first time I double hooked Sculptor I had to wait with the collectable window open because of my GP situation and then I didn't even catch a Steth, and I had to take a several month break from attempts because it was so heartbreaking lmfao.
I caught Ruby Dragon at level 100 in 2 windows after around 100 windows of failure. Spareful hand is a MASSIVE increase in the number of casts per window at ruby dragon. Its sooooo good
hey i just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS (ruby dragon was harder in 6.0) on catching THE RUBY DRAGON (it was harder in 6.0). i know you've been working really hard (ruby dragon used to be harder) at it, and i'm happy that you've (ruby dragon used to be harder) achieved catching this legendary fish. i know your journey through (ruby dragon used to be harder) big fishing was filled with ups and downs, but you (ruby dragon used to be harder) and your blue bobbit stuck (ruby dragon used to be harder) together through them all, and you were rewarded for your patience and (ruby dragon used to be harder) tenacity. congratulations (ruby dragon used to be so much harder) once again, and here's to more success in your future (ruby dragon used to be harder) fishing endeavors!!! (i am 100% joking just in case haha. wonderful, super informative video as always!!! its rly interesting to see how much prep + window changes with the lvl 100 fisher kit!! it almost makes me want to try catching this fish again. ALMOST. 😂)
This is the last fish I need, glad to see I've basically been doing what I should be doing. Complaining here means that I'll catch it for sure on monday right?
folks really be gatekeeping fish lol ... i struggled for 3 years to get big fish title last one being ruby but why would i be mad others wont have to struggle as much due to new skills ? if anyone did it without( lvl100 skill) and had to fight for ruby or other fish but came out succesful these skills wont take away the joy, the relief and the memory you have of catching that "elusive fish" back then but now its unfair others can? , mind you even with the skills cathing ruby aint easy .
Took me 9 months to catch this goddamn fish before Dawntrail came out. The scar shall never heal. These sprouts nowadays don't know the true terror of losing the Ku'er you prepped on the first mooch.
Yes, the literal only purpose of getting it is for the achievement That goes for most big fish, actually; they’re just there for completionism and achievement hunting, meaning you never have to touch this system if you don’t want to
This is so unfair! I had to catch Ruby Dragon without all these extra abilities. It's catering to casuals and is a SLAP IN THE FACE to HARDCORE FISHERS! I will be boycotting re-catching Ruby Dragon and I encourage all the REAL fishers to do the same. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go empty the can I have duct-taped to my head that catches my brain juices leaking out.
DT update: Ambitious Lure works. I tried slapping a Barramundi but I couldn't guarantee Vidyutvat as I would get (!) fish. I slapped the Thav Goby and I got consistent (!!!) until I caught it.
Recently getting into big fishing and being able to Slap something requiring a specific hookset and then making further bias using a Lure to remove anything that is the opposite bite of what you want has definitely made the ARR ones a bit less excessive. It doesn't always work but being able to actually see a !!! happen keeps the moral up. Spareful Hand is really nice too but Cherbinet doesnt want to bite yet. 😔
If you arrive early enough, you can build 10 stacks of Angeler's Art at a different fishing hole so that it doesn't mess up with your Intution preparation. As long as you stay within Coerthas Western Highlands, your stacks will not reset.
Luck has a huge impact in fishing as always since I (Proceed at your own risk)... . . . . . . . . Got my whale on my first intuition and the second cast so I was incredibly lucky, prep gives you an edge but you are always at the hands of lady luck. I got very good at getting Horizon's and i didn't got the chance to putting that to use.
Came straight here after it was mentioned in the tier list. Every discussion video should reference another 1-2 hour video so we can all go deeper into the ffxiv rabbit-fishing-hole,
I caught garlic on first window I felt kinda gipped out of the experience but glad i could remove it from rotation. I was really lucky with side whale too I think I only had to go to jail twice. Fork and skaan were my last two for final fish and got them both the same weekend a few months back.
Thx 🙏 this was great insight to new skills. I happened upon this while looking for stuff on orange scrip mount farm. Looking forward to new 7.x big fish - I’ve been withdrawl since catching fork and skaan a few months before expansion release o/
