I'm on the verge of giving up on PSU football. The recruiting continues to deteriorate. We lose far more than we get. Unless we figure out how to get some of these guys, we will never be able to compete in the Big 10. It's more than can take.
We NEED ELITE DL and OL players though. Recruits should see how our upper class men DL play’s this year. Probably 3 will be high draft picks. You understand what I’m saying ?
BP CAN DEFINITELY THROW THE FOOTBALL !!!! HE HAS WORKED HIS BUTT OFF ON BETTER ACRACY !!!! JMO BUT HES MORE ACCURATE THEN DREW !!!! PLUS HE LOVES THE BIG STAGE !!!! WATCHED HIM ALMOST WON A TITLE SINGLE HANDEDLY !!!!
I don't know how the rank and file feel about PSU football, but from an out of state fan MY take is that James Franklin is a fine recruiter(and program builder) but not a good game day coach. He's been very good when he's had good/great assistant coaches/ Joe Moorhead for example)/ and the players to match. Now if PSU can get the offense and defense to have great years simultaneously instead of alternating years, then PSU will finally challenge for a top 5 Bowl team.
I’ll tell you he can do. Are you familiar with the Slap chop kitchen tool? Beau will slap the opposing defensive fronts and chop their secondary. He minces corners and dices safeties. The Two headed giant of Beau Allar is a force only rivaled by Greek gods
Thing is we aren’t ever going to beat out schools like Georgia, Clemson, Bama, Ohio St. etc. The top talent has been going elsewhere. When we get the top talent it’s not being cultivated or it’s just a complete miss in talent. I think Franklin is going to be what he has already been. Can’t reach the top and consistently finishes 3rd on the conference. Sucks but it’s the reality of it.
The problem with doing a White Out at noon is the White Out is a recruiting tool and it's hard to get kids to show up to a noon game after playing in their own game the night before
White Out means nothing if it’s used against shit teams like Illinois. Make that ILL game the helmet stripe theme use White Out for OSU there it’s solved
You touched on the white out being a major recruiting tool. One of the big reasons for that is it's a lot easier for recruits to get to State College for an 8pm game, rather than a noon or even 3:30 kickoff. Most of these recruits are still in season when the white out game happens so travel is a giant hurtle. They need a night, white out game for that reason alone. For better or worse, this game has become one of the biggest events of the season for football recruiting. My opinion is to just have two per season. Have the night white out, earlier in the season, then white out the biggest home game. The crowd can make the atmosphere just as crazy as the night games, you just wouldn't get the awesome visuals.
I think the "helmet stripe" game satisfies that. It seems like Penn State will have only 1 night game in Beaver Stadium, which is awful in general, but they can't control that. However, they can control which themes are for which games.
I don't understand why you talk about possibly 2 running back decommits? Don't put it in their mind, they watch this type of stuff as well!!! WE ARE 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Nagao has no baseline defense on his feet….he constantly puts himself in bad positions on his feet….hes never learned how to sprawl apparently….I think Nagao is odd man out at 133. Zach Rider just beat Gabe Arnold at U20’s….can he make the lineup at 174? Jeff, you’ve been the best for a long long time….keep up the great work. Nick is just a great person thru and thru. Nick is a grinder and will have the lighter weights ready to contend. I think Zain is ready to be done wrestling after these Olympics. New baby, and his job on Wall Street r screaming out. One of the best Penn State wrestlers ever.
Neither is Penn State and I would still put Michigan ahead of Penn State this year. PENN state QB, online wrs to name a few still need help. And there defense line as well@@LockedOnNittanyLions
Now that they have stripe outs and the helmet stripe game available as additional options, it doesn't matter to me. Our fans will be extra loud and intimidating for any of them.
I thought Penn State should play UCLA in the Whiteout Game since it's a way of corraling in the California (and West Coast) market as an entry into the Big 10 Conference!
It's gotta be UCLA! Trust me folks...I attended USC.....Nobody cares about UCLA. The team amd their fans would be shell shocked by the atmosphere....so will S.C. fans for that matter.
PJ Duke is the best offensive wrestler on his feet then I have ever seen at the high school level. At high school nationals, he scored 63 takedowns in 7 matches and that’s while pinning 4 guys and teching 3. He did not give up any points out side of escapes either.’ I was most impressed on how he man handled Webster at the open . Also how he just ran circles around Henckel at ironman finals. I know score was 8-6, but it was 6 escapes ( 4 after his takedowns, 1 for period choice, 1. for choice bottom for injury).
