Lynne came to do a portfolio review for my class when I was at Sunderland Uni. She was nice to me (but made some of my classmates cry 😆 ) Nice to see her interview here!
In the early 1990s my school district had a vocational Graphic Arts class available for the 4 local high schools. Our class was centrally located at the appropriately named Central High School, lol. It was a cool and fun class. It was an introduction to offset lithography and using a dark room to produce a positive for the metal plates we used for printing and silk screens for clothes. To this day I love the smell of printers ink :)
I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, and I've got illustrations featured in print, but only for things like leaflets and sometimes websites. I'd very much like to illustrate a children's book, but breaking in is very hard. I was wondering about setting up an account on that website Fiverr and uploading some of my portfolio and giving that a shot. Has anyone had any luck with illustration commission's on Fiverr?
I ve done 2 books Puteri Pakma and now heading for the 3rd book ...I love the conventional way ...of illustration ...thanks for sharing ... www.puteripakmastory.blogspot.com
I think all children need to stop worrying about adults opinions of boy or girl and who does what. It's sad discussions are even herd when it comes to children. It's what appeals to the child and not what adults force in their ears. I guess I raise my child different. Cuz my son is almost two and has long hair and is adorable either way. Love you all. And great video
Very informative and inspiring. I'm looking to start the BA (hons) in Illustration with the OCA once the funding is sorted and this video has helped convince me that I've made the right choice.
Hi, I love your video's. Thanks for helps us people who want to find our way as artists and illustrators. I have been working and pursuing art in my free time basically my whole life and now I want to live in a cheaper city so I can cut down my expenses and become a full time artist and illustrator. I have wanted to be an artist since I was four years old and I up to now have done allot to avoid it but I think about it all day everyday. Can you recommend any city's I can do this? Any advice you can offer is really appreciated. Many thanks for reading my comment.
This is so interesting. You really did get lucky. I like your positivity. You're very inspiring. I'm a mum of 4 children including 1 year old twins. I blog on RU-vid and now I have started to get back into drawing. I've always wanted to write and illustrate a children's book. At the moment I'm watching loads of tutorials on how to draw cartoons because I want to make a book with our family as the characters for my twin girls. You really do have the dream job x
