Science meet Society. How to move in a Medieval Armour? How to fight with it? This channel shares my scholarly research endeavours by means of public outreach short films intended for display in museum exhibitions.
Wow! Very impressed by all three. The firefighter especially was carrying all sorts of loads off his body, swinging and dangling, which made his obstacle run much harder compared to the knight who carried all the extra weight right over his clothes. And the firefighter still did it fastest! In any case, this puts to rest the myth of the slow, clumsy knight!
My biggest gripe about this is that the soldier & the knight are NOT at FULL combat load i.e. they have NO weapons. That should've been included here for a more realistic test.
at 4:24 the firefighter climbing with the music reminded me of the Emergency series. The Euro style and theatrical music and all. Yeas back I had to add this soundtrack to my Spotify because of this moment right here. Super heroic sounding
Someone should make a parody of those Boston Dynamic videos, but with a guy in armor instead of a robot. Like guy in armor picking boxes up and someone comes with a broom and tries to get him out of balance ect. .
Good times for ordinary people !!!... (i do not think i could do better). But a real medieval knight would have crushed these times. A real knight would be on the same level as the hardest military units in the world... SAS, SEAL, French Foreign... etc etc. They were not ordinary footsoldiers...they lived and trained in their armors all days, for hours!!!.
I mean, we didn't account for a lot of things, all things considered, I think it does show, they were within relatively short times of each other, meaning, the armor is not that cumbersome. In fact, I'd say that the soldier and the fireman had more awkward shit to deal with.
1:42 I think that not a wall is meant, but something call Kamin in German - two mountain walls separated so little that one can touch both simulaneously, allowing to climb them by using both. An example can be found in German Wikipedia in the article about "Kamin (Bergsport)". Btw.: good video
Really well done. I had fun! :D The whole time I was wondering when the left armor moves and prompts the protagonist to be more serious. :) Maybe an idea for the second video??
huh and when every one realizes that the armor that knight is wearing is from amazon or wyrm were then theyll realize that this video is faker the a karashians breast
