I remember watching the treehouse demo and expecting the game in 2020 at the latest. Now it's been a long time and my hype is dead. The game will be good probably so i'll just wait it out.
its where its always been at. in allits plyable awesomeness. where do you expect it to be? hey wanna hear some crazy lore? nintendo paid team cherry 20million to be silksong exclusive from christmas till feb 24/2025. silksong is going to drop with the new nintendo switch 2. just think about it nintendo are the only ones to have the demo.
tbh crowsworn another metroidvanina that i am more excited for than skong (im not joking) does the thing we wantn silksong to do they do little sneak peaks and do interviews about the game no one is asking where are crowsworn news cuz we have it and with mongose rodeo showing they can do it it made people realise that team cherry could also do it but they dont
i just can't get with crowsworn b.c of how much it looks like HK-there is being derivative then whatever they are doing. but yeah the lil updates they give everyone is thoughtful and nice.
people can defend team cherry all they want... fact of the matter is, they announced this game YEARS AGO at this point and BARELY give any updates EVER. They announced this game far too early, they'll never live up to the expectations now... they dug that hole themselves. There was no reason to handle this the way they have but hey... i just hope it actually releases at this point
Silksong is going to be a pretty good game at worst and a masterpiece at best. It can take as long as it needs. Team Cherry can do whatever they want. And so can the people waiting. And as one of those people waiting, let me express an opinion: after such a long period of silence, especially since Summer 2022, the lack of communication about the game has been a huge dick move. Calling it as it is.
Im mostly doing this to wind people up, but if you want a serious answer. It's very hard to get into, it can get so unfair at times and yet it's also so beautiful. Buy at your own risk
contractual obligation is what I'm guessing for the silence. I'm sure they're second think about agreeing to a contract or 2 next time. I'm also guessing that it has to due with ports as well. I'm sure that we're gonna get something about it end of this year, early next year.

Not communicating is KINDA bad, but i DO respect them, i believe they're trying their best to make the game, after all, they are a very small team making a kinda big game, sure it will take long time, you know what, i won't get disappointed, even when i know it's not going to release anytime soon but, i will silently and patiently wait...
I have been waiting since they announced the game in 2019 and am in kind of an apathetic/indifferent state but so many good games out there not really bothered either.
26:43 That's the thing though. Just because there is no "wrong way" doesn't mean that there isn't a "right way." Every single puzzle in the game has a "correct" solution. The problem is that 9 time out of ten, its quicker and easier to just completely skip the puzzle instead of engaging with it. And because you get the same reward no matter how you "solved" the puzzle, it makes doing the puzzles the intended way feel pointless.
True. I was kind of positive on that quality of the shrines but honestly i think that open ended "solve it your way" approach to every shrine really dragged them all down. very unsatisfying
great video. I honestly feel is a mixture of "they dont owe us anything" mentality, were they kinda just do their thing without feeling pressured, but also, since they now probably unlimited resource and time they are putting absolutely everything they wish into this new sequel
@@Wralis same. wish we could see a documentary behind the scenes at some point. But yeah i was thinking the other day, maybe this is like a Tears of the kingdom scenario. They are putting absolutely all the ideas they have for this game so when it comes out they can be done with it, forget about dlc, and just move on to something else
I'm just wondering what happened to all the stuff shown in the Trailers. Imagine they're like animated videos or something. They never showed anything that'll be in the game at all if you know what i mean
I don't really mind how long this takes, I just want it to release in a period of time where I can play it for hours straight without thinking about doing something else, you know? Like summer holidayxs, or winter, whatever. I think it's better for them to take longer. Hollow Knight, after all, is a rushed game done with a misserable budget (36K us dollars approximately). Now they have more time because they don't have to be worried about that anymore. One of the team members has a child. They are obviously not investing the same time per day in the game as they did with HK. As seen in the trailer, they still have fabolous ideas, and if taking time means publishing an amazing game that lacks bugs, I'm up for it. Think about this as well, Hollow Knight released with a enormous amount of bugs, glitches and places where u could get softlocked. I just think they should, at least, say what they are working on right now, or at least if they are polishing the game or still adding content.
i dont mind the game taking a long time to develop but the fact that its been so long and we barley know anything about the state of the game is disappointing. at least be like "guys btw were still working on silksong we havent abandoned it"
I'd add one more reason could hold the development back even longer. About a year ago there was a scandal with Unity, when they changed payment conditions and this discouraged way many developers from development on Unity. And some developers started to rewrite everything to other engines such as Godot or Unreal Engine or even write your own. And this also is not for free
@@Wralis I'm interested in this as well. If they were impacted, it would be worth a while to inform the community about this. Unity licencing and payment has been partially reverted since then, but Unity has way less trust and Godot more and more features. :P
you want some metroidvanias? dont worry, i got you: Ori and the blind forest, Ori and the will of the wisps, Pseudeoregalia (fluid 3d platforming and combat with metroidvania elements), as aforementioned, Blasphemous 1 and 2 (good ass games), Nine sols (kinda like hollow knight, but the gameplay is based around a sekiro like parry mechanic), Rusted moss, Salt and sanctuary (dont know much about it, but i heard its alright), Ender lilies, Lone fungus, and, if you dont have any money you can go play this one for FREE right now, Bloody hell (binding of isaac meets metroidvania) want some games to look out for? Rune fencer illyia, Chiascuro, Mio: memories in orbit, Altered Alma, Bloody hell 2 (although it might not be a metroidvania like its predecessor). not quite tagged as a metroidvania, but Rain world (if you havent played this game, ima come over there and install it myself.),
lots of good suggestions here. I have been playing Crosscode and even tho it's not a metroidvania the puzzles, combat, music and art are so good I can't put it down.
Finished P5, a Steel Soul 108% run, multiple randomizers (Item, room, enemy, etc..) all in the wait for Silksong.. With how many people are waiting it'll probably get Game of the Year
