Just did mine but the motor is turning the wrong way. The wipers are going into the engine bay instead of going up towards the window. Trust me to receive a faulty one. Thanks for the help though :P
You don't need to replace it just take the back off the switch split the switch in half & clean it with scourer pad it's because the grease goes old & forms a dark layer on the tracks preventing connection
I was late into car ownership (late 20's, for practice driving) Love working on and learning about car maintenance. Also keeps the wallet thick, hahaha!.
I don’t know what I did wrong I was trying to connect led lights I connected the fuse with jumper but they wouldn’t turn on when car was on or off I used the 5 a ones I’m new to this but I feel like I did everything right would anyone know what’s wrong?
These 'stepless' ratchets wouldn't cost any more to manufacture, but they certainly cost more than a standard ratchet to purchase. But you buy once & cry once ... it could be money well spent.
Not really sure why they decided to do this on the first generation model, instead of opting for a more conventional bonnet. The issue with the setup used on the early smart cars, you cannot really see the levels on the coolant bottle. one of the first mods i will be doing to my 450 is a bonnet mod.
I swear they made these cars deliberately and unnecessarily harder to work on. They could've routed it through the right hand side where there's fewer obstacles. There's other stuff like the indicator relay. Not in the fuse box, no. Its in the BCM where you have to pull out the trim and battery. Changing an air filter? No opening the box for you! That's gotta be detached from the AFM housing... Like seriously, wtf?
Great camera work. To echo someone else, best close up video tutorial have seen to date; no background noise, no distractions. I fitted the left stalk on our saloon Citroen (2010) just yesterday, and it was useful to refer to the stages. Best useful fact :-) was to press a tab to remove the plug of wires from the bottom of stalk before disconnecting . Everything went OK, and new Indicator Stalk is fitted and IT WORKS, WAS AMAZED AT THE INDICATOR BRIGHTNESS, IT WAS Ab Fab. well after 14 years it had gone down to a weak blip. Thank you again, Supercar Central, your video was a great gift
Great video - very clearly described and well filmed despite the cramped space. Trickiest step was keeping the metal clamp pinched while removing the old stalk... make sure you have a selection of pliers to hand and an extra pair of hands if you can both fit in the car!
Good tutorial, comprehensive video, covering everything. You'll require, TX30 Star bit, 10mm, 8mm ?, 19mm sockets plus a pozie drive and plenty of patience which I tend to lack, I found the arm on Temu for £15.24 a couple of tools and I've done the job myself for under thirty quid. This would have cost me hundreds at the main dealer. REMEMBER TO DISCONNECT THE CAR BATTERY THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT, AS THE AIRBAG IS AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE, AND WILL WAKE YOU UP, if it goes off! THANKS FOR LOADING!😊
