I sit in as many cars as I can to show the truth behind automotive interior quality. I exposed the good, the bad, and the ugly in the many manufacturers featured in this channel.
You read the comments, thanks for checking the rearview mirror! I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan, so basically the same car as this just older and lower trim and branded differently, and it squeaks in most of the same places. The left rear door squeaked in the same places, and that center console area leaves a bit to be desired. However, my overhead console wasn't as bad as this one and was actually pretty solid, and mine had a little less of the smaller squeaks. I'd give mine a 6.5-7 out of 10. And I agree. The buttons are not great and are right out of a Sonota. Gotta say this generation G80 is probably one of the lowest quality Genesis vehicles produced. They really stepped up their game in the newer ones. The drive on this car is pretty nice though. On the other hand, my Dads 2018 G90 is actually pretty solid in terms of fit and finish.
Who said BMW's interiors are "better made" than Mercedes's? I don't see how this is "better" than w213. The Audi A6 C8 is not better either. Most people make mistake when compare cars from different generations. My old e46 interior is like 20 years old and it's rock solid.
I tested every premium SUV I could find (Europe). The list includes this RX450h, NX300h, BMW x3, x5, x7, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, Volvo XC90, GLE, even some Toyotas (new Rav4 and Land Cruiser j150). I really wanted to like the Lexus because of their reputation for reliablity, but this Lexus was by far the worst. Biggest disappointment. The interior is a joke compared to the others. Very cheap plastic all over the place. The infotainment is completely stupid. Wind noise is unacceptable, the ride is average. Handles like a boat. I honestly liked the toyotas more than the lexus nx and rx, at least they don't pretend to be premium. After the rx450h I immediately tested the Volvo XC90 T8 and it was simply better at every single thing. Not to mention if you actually need 4wd you can forget about it, it's useless.
As much as this Lexus is terrible I’m not sure how you found the GLE better If you watch this same creator’s other videos every Mercedes is *total trash* and not like “slight creeks” like the Lexus They were LOUD
You should start checking the interior rear view mirror, maybe with the button test or something. On older and mid 2010s Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products (not sure about the newer ones) the rear view mirror feels very cheap when you move it (even on the high end Genesis) and squeaks a bit when you move it as well (makes me feel great after I just dropped 70k on a Genesis and go to adjust my rear view mirror). Just a thought as that’s a major touch point.
Looks very solid. I say that as a Mercedes w213 owner. The latest generations of Mercedes, BMW an Audi look very fancy inside, but they squeak and rattle like crazy.
I don't understand why everybody says BMW and Audi are "better built", while they crack and squeak way more. Just curious. Also the Mercedes made for USA and Canada are with lower quality. Mine is made in Germany FOR Germany. It is much better than the one in this video, and it's 8 years old car.
That noise that you could be hearing could be the wheel bearings, if it sounds like a roaring noise almost then I'd get them replaced asap, don't wanna be racing you wheel down the road.
My 2005 Camry with leather interior is an absolute tank of a car. Everything from the signal stalks to knobs have good tactile feedback and feel. Almost 20 years old & still going. Toronto Canada
"we are very much in a recession" dude, we haven't been in a recession in 4 plus years and that was because it was self-inflicted because of covid. you need to update your skills. we are no where near a recession in any way. the fed will cut rates this year because of some fears of STAGFLATION and inflation close to 0%. it's like listening to a comic book: www.bea.gov/news/glance#:~:text=Real%20gross%20domestic%20product%20(GDP,real%20GDP%20increased%203.4%20percent.
CLS maybe Mercedes best designed sedan. You might end up buying a better equipped model like those 2009 AMG's. Better download the manual and join the forums, these Mercedes are full of secrets lol. Good choice man.
Could've bought a 2014-2020 Chevy Impala, it's a cadillac wearing a chevy bowtie. Nice design and wouldn't have the insurance and high maintenance cost of a Mercedes
