0:18: The one who put the thing for the tomatoes to climb, does he have a channel? How to follow him? Coz, depending on how high them tomatoes will be 2 months from now, that's forward-thinking!
Aw man! Might be a lot of work to empty it out and attach it, but if you get another one I would highly recommend…we have gophers and mice…this has really saved my garden! Good luck to you and happy gardening! 🌱
@@luckycatcreations The bottom of the bed is full of rotten wood etc. I will empty the top 12 “ and put down the barrier. It’s a lot of work, but right now the bed is useless! :)
Thank you! I’m happy we can conquer these projects together…it has been exciting to see the progress and there is still so much more we hope to do! Thank you for commenting!
Thanks! I’m happy to have a place for my tomatoes :) the bed will be in a temporary spot for now, until we finish the patio work . It’s starting to come together slowly but surely.
Thanks @Firstcause! My garden wouldn’t be nearly as successful without the irrigation system, it allows me to stress less and focus on what I’m growing next. 👍🏻🌱
Awww! Thank you so much, you are so kind! Will be sure to keep it going, thanks for watching. And grow some strawberries…they taste way better from the garden!!! 😀🍓😋
This may seem silly to you I found some book cases on the side of the road that my neighbor was getting rid of so I thought make them into raise beds, now I just need to fill them up ,😂
Not silly at all!!! I am all for repurposing materials…and what better cause than to start a garden! 👏🏻 I wish you the best of luck! 🍀 Happy Gardening!!! 😊
@@luckycatcreations thank you for answering! I like to recycle what I can for the garden, I just hope they will last a few years , I live in arizona and it's very hot here in summer, I even found an old rocken horse and I have that it tied to the front yard fence,,
I love it!! 😍 I don’t think anything lasts super long in Arizona because of our extremely hot summers…but I should think you will get at least a few years out of it! I came across this article a few months ago of someone who repurposed a dresser the same way, I will include in case you want to check out what they did… www.homejelly.com/how-to-part-2-repurposed-dresser-makes-a-fantastic-raised-garden-bed/
Your welcome! I live in Gilbert…lots of gophers in my location which is why I feel raised garden beds work best. 👍🏻 where abouts are you in Az? I’m loving all the rain we’ve been getting!
Yes it was a lot of work, but the kids loved seeing it come together! I will have to post an update on the plants…we’ve gotten quite a bit of rain and they are thriving! 🌿
Actually they are 3 x 8’ and I LOVE the height! We built them out of (Kiln) Doug Fur Wood and added hardware cloth to the underside to keep pests (mostly gophers) out.
Wow, your garden transformation is truly inspiring! 🌱 I absolutely loved the part where you talked about the unexpected success with the celery that thrived through the winter. As a fellow homesteader, it's those surprising victories that really make gardening so rewarding. And those Johnny jump-ups being your favorite, I can totally relate; they add such a vibrant touch to the garden. Can't wait to try mixing Swiss chard with strawberries now, thanks to your happy accident tip! Keep up the amazing work, and I'm looking forward to more updates.
Your comment means so much to me! I’m so glad you were inspired and best of luck to you in your garden. 🍀 I have much to learn and look forward to sharing more of my gardening adventures in the future.
Thank you! ❤️ I plan to release a video describing the materials and cost of making them in the near future. Please stay tuned for that, and thanks you for watching! 😊
I am loving your channel. I have a few questions if that is alright. What did you spray on your cherry tomato plant when you potted it to overwinter it? And, are you in the low desert (zone 9b)? I am in Phoenix so I am just trying to get an idea if we would be doing things at the same time.
Thank you so much for your comment! Yes, I am located in 9b Gilbert AZ. I sprayed my tomato plant and roots with Neem oil to prevent any pests and keep the plant healthy. I hope to post an update in the future and plant more tomato plants this spring. Good luck with your garden!🍀
@@luckycatcreations OMG your channel should be popping you a beautiful lady and your smile is golden, and you have a beautiful family keep posting you have so much to share keep up good work
I know! They are such beautiful plants, I’m hoping my efforts will be successful. I was hopeful that the Arizona winter would be mild enough that they would survive no problem, but didn’t realize just how sensitive they were to the freezing temps. 🥶
Beautiful garden. I live in Minnesota and start my pepper seeds each winter indoors. I really should try overwintering some this next growing season! Happy Growing.
Thank you! 😃 I’m thinking about making a video about the difference between starting peppers from seed and overwintering. Thanks for commenting, and good luck in your garden!
Thank you! Our yard has been so tore up with all the construction, it is so good to see it coming together! I love your channel, you have a great setup! I hope to someday incorporate chickens into the mix, but will be a long ways down the road... if ever! :{
Thank you! :) Tomatoes are a staple in our household, so many things you can do with them, I couldn’t wait to grow them in my garden! Thank you for commenting, and I wish you the very best in your garden!
I’m really against using peat moss in any shape, form or fashion. Depleting the peat bogs is hazardous to the environment and does not constitute responsible guarding thing in my book.
Thank you so much commenting! I did not realize that peat moss is not environmentally friendly. 😬 Do you have any suggestions to what might work better as a substitute?
Thank you so much for subscribing! We DIY’d them out of 1/2” poly tubing using a 1/64th drill bit on a drill press. Although they do sell them premade at gardeninminutes.com
