I'm Daz and my passion and love for cacti & succulents has deep roots that began when my father had his large collection when I was young. Sadly, when he became ill, 99% of the collection was lost from a combination of neglect, our greenhouse being storm damaged and harsh winters. I managed to save one little offset, and this act inspired me, as well as watching other cacti & succulent growers here on RU-vid to start my own collection and continue my dad’s legacy of love for these amazing plants. Love the intro!!! A few things I've not seen before!! What kind of bird was the bird in the bird bath? Very cool!!! Your pup Diesel looks like he's enjoying the sunshine!!! Bet your really happy the geometicus is growing!! Love them!! Didn't get a lot of flowers this year either. I do have one success plant though, my two tiny leftovers from my sulcorebutia raushii are growing healthy!! About 3 times larger than at the beginning of spring!!! Had a few parodias bloom. And the Astrophytum asterias you sent has been blooming. But by the time I get home from work it's closed already!! Drats!! But at least it's growing great an d healthy!! Oh, I didn’t know you were able to germinate those O. aurea seeds that I gave you. They are looking great! The Tephrocactus articulatus too looks healthy. Yes, Opuntia, Cylindopuntia and Tephrocactus I find like to be outside. They do a growth spurt here during summer despite the heat. With your moderate summer, they can probably even stay outside the greenhouse. Lots of buds coming up for you. My cacti are 😴 at the moment. Though some have flowers still.

Good flowers and excellent pigeon Daz 😎 Good to see a flower on the peanut cactus at last, you might find it prefers being outside for the summer, just moved all mine out as they don't like the heat on their roots 🙄 You can't win with them 😁 Opuntias all looking good too, they do like a good bit of light. This was very enjoyable, seeing the wonderful variety of cacti was like a mini view into what’s out there in cacti world…it was so nice seeing the labels on the plants too, idk why planty folks seem to avoid them and then not remember a name. I saw an Echinocereus that had an interesting shape I’m going to look up. Video nicely done, thank you! 🌵🌸

Damnit man... i was just about to leave you a comment on your Neochilenia unboxing vid asking for a Neochilenia Occulta update, but then i checked this vid, HOPING it wouldnt be a victim featured... and here i am. I too have one, about a quarter sized purple one. Im thinking i may transplant it into a 90% pumice mix. Gotta keep it real airy around that tap root. Nothing worse than surprise rot, especially when you have no idea why it happened.

Wow. Thank you for an amazing and informative video. These are stunning plants. I’ve just bought one from the garden centre. I had no clue what it was, so here I am, after researching. I need some advice if possible please. The plant was sold without soil. It’s just a caudex, with no visible roots and one single healthy (green) stem. How do I pot it without a root system, and how is it even alive?

Hello Mr Daz,,,ive been enjoying your videos for quite a few years and from time to time i have to vo back and re-watch ur vids that teach us how to do certain tasks--Like acclimating new seeds from out of their original humid based housing they have been used to since Day 1!!! I am about ready to start acclimating my own cacti seeds soon, i use the plastic baddie method which i have had Excellent luck with. But this time was ghe FIRST time ive actually had some problems with algea & some damping off!! I even steralyzed my pot like EXTRA good this time so go figure. But my question to you is, Have you found anything succussful in filling the algae or mold that may get on the seedlings while they are growing??? The internet obviously suggests Alot of different things but i dont WANT to use my cactuses babies as guinnea pigs!! I want to know exactly what will work b4 i start putting these strong chemicals on them, possibly making thungs even worse!! If u can suggest anything, i would gruly appreciate it!! As far as the plasuc baggie method, i figure i will just unzip an inch each week till they are fully open vetting full air! Does that sound good to you?? I TRULY enjoy ur vids! There isn't really anything to stop that. Algae and moss growth doesn't hurt the seedlings directly and will usually die off once the seedlings are out of their bags. Things like fine sand or grit can suppress it, though. Damping off can occur no matter how clean things are, unfortunately. As for unsealing them, you can unseal the bags a little bit each day until they're fully exposed to some fresh air. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜

These are beautiful plants Daz, and I love the way you present them in the pots with the slate pieces. I inherited a pot of Sempervivums which have been totally neglected for 15-20 years, they could probably do with repotting! 🙂🌵💚

Beautiful cacti. I have 2 cacti that are similar to the one you didn't know the name but one of them has pink spines and the other has different "waves" 😅 so I guess I don't have one of that kind. Good luck in finding it. Love the repotting videos. 😊
