🧛Well I suppose insight ( 😉) I guessed you might enjoy Powerless. I can't say I liked it sadly.... I did go in with an open mind 'cause everyone was loving but...I don't understand why the Trials were necessary?? I liked the main chars the banter between them was nice, but it felt forced at times...I won't go on and on (cause I have more)but I will give Reckless a try - I hope it's better.🧛 That copy for Assistant to the Villain is beautiful. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I will add it to TBR (the really endless TBR that I have...)🧛
The trials are in honor of the purging that happened after the plague (to get rid of the ordinaries) that was called the great purging are the trials are to honor that and the Elite kingdom and to showcase the supernatural abilities but also to give people "a chance" at a better life in case they win (which we all know, they won't since the King is pulling all the strings.)
@@CoffeeAndTales No I understand the reason the author gave but it doesnt make sense to me. The map makes the kingdom look very small. Why are they having this contest with a high death rate to prove they are better than the Ordinaries? The only reason I see is the king trying to cull certain members that might be traitors to make sure he stays in power, but I don't know.. It just didn't click for me. I think it also has to do with the author making no effort into side chars. There's Pae and Kai... Oh and Kit. Ahh I'll stop I have too many thoughts on this book.
@Muxl I think the idea of the trials is to give people false hope and something else to focus on other than the extreme poor conditions they're living in and also to showcase the brutal power that the government wield and therefore spread fear and make people think twice before challenging their rule. I agree with the map, it looked a bit small. I mean if we're going to dissect, I totally agree that it's laking deeper characters and other things too, but as I said, I enjoyed the tropes and thought it was entertaining 🤠
@@CoffeeAndTales I agree. But I didn't really feel like the author got the idea across properly.. Maybe I was expecting too much from it cause of all the hype.❤️
Great reviews! Loved the Riley Thorn books. Author was able to make seniors funny and take them to the edge of annoying without going over the top. Fun🧛
🧚 wow! Just WOW!!! Such stunning books! I haven’t received my FL When the Moon Hatched yet but from what I can see it’s absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to see it in person! The Bargainer Series is outstanding! I would have reversed the dust jackets as well… that Character art is unbelievable! 💜

Great haul! Your excitement is infectious. 🥰The gorgeous Arcane Society Bargainer series, Subterranean Press Innkeeper vol.1, and LitJoy Cruel Prince series are my top 3 regrets. I started getting into collecting special edition books too late. Hopefully I can snag them in the future, if the secondary market prices calm down. Fingers crossed!

Another amazing vid 🤩im sorry but i find it funny how we all order books from Waterstones and amazon and we cant even be excited about opening them because of the fear of them being all creased or damaged haha its just such a bookish problem 🤣
So true!!! I ordered The Return To Caraval box set from Waterstones just because I was too scared to order from Amazon and received it all messed up. And I have been meaning to ask you if Waterstones usually bubble-wrap or protect the box sets? 😖
@@CoffeeAndTales omg thats terrible literally the holding of a breath when you open their packages as you check damage is such a universal experience at this point 😒 its abolsutely ridiculous! I ordered hunger games box set and nope, no packaging at all. luckily the box it came in was a good size for the set so they were moving around but still... surely they must be losing more money on returns of damaged items than it would cost them to bubble wrap stuff 🙄 honestly makes the experience of getting books such a stressful one 🤮

Every time I see The God and the Gumiho cover it makes me want to buy it. It looks so pretty. The fox on the cup was such a cute touch. Definitely better then the paperback cover. 🦊🦊🦊

I love the US Monstrous Kind cover! Its so vibrant and mysterious. I'm looking forward to Fear the Flames as well. I love the simplicity of the cover. My MOST anticipated though is Somewhere Beyond the Sea! I will drop everything when it comes out. 📚📚📚

I got my eye on Fear the Flames (but umm I need to finish some of the books📚📚📚 I already bought ;_;)!! Somewhere beyond the seAAA hehe. I have not read the 1st one but I have a reason!!!
