When I was a kid my dad would take me to watch the rally cross at Brands Hatch. Martin and Will Gollop had evil battles. This would have been about 1990. I knew nothing of who Martin was but the way he drove said it all. He was absolutely fierce, his determination to win was incredible. What a hero.
Must have been horrible to stop the race cus you thought you saw the end flag >.< Best comment : you cant get a hug, cus you took your mums frame with you when you oppped out at birt so much beard you have :D
Mr Rallycross is the best there has ever been. He never gave anything less than 100% for risk and reward, a little bit just like Colin MacRae. I started watching Rallycross on Eurosport in the 80's and it was magic. Best races were with Martin in the RS200 and Will Gollop in the 6R4. This was a fabulous find and so glad to have sat and watched it.
Hood flew up and blocked the view for the race leader? Fuck you, no red flag, race goes on Car hit the ditch and flipped 7 times disintegrating the vehicle? Fuck you, no red flag, race goes on Angry local storms the track shaking his fist in anger at the other racers? Fuck you, no red flag, race goes on F1: There was a piece of gravel on the track safety car is out ;(
He pulls a hilarious quip at the journalist at 19:20, that falls through in the subtitles. "You don't get a hug, because you brought the frame along with you from birth, with all the facial hair you've got"
