@@PQuas I started playing in Fate Reforged in 2014, but K'rrik first released in 2019 and despite having played for 5 years at that point, I was still very bad at the game 😂 I like to think I've improved since then, but who knows 🤷♂️
@@jamesdelaney8582 if you watched my full length video, not me 😂 I wildly underestimated this card from the day it was printed until I decided to build a deck with it in Brawl. So like, 5 or 6 years I thought this was trash (mostly because I don't keep up with CEDH and didn't realize it was a legitimate tier commander, lol)
@@lizards4ever thanks, I appreciate the support! This video was one of my favorites to make, I loved playing this deck and I still do on occasion! Most of my companion decks are better than they have any right to be 😂
@@smartb0mb a few months ago they had a bundle for $10 where you'd get a handful of alt art styles. I think it was Mind Stone, Sad Bot, Swiftfoot Boots, Evolving Wilds, Arcane Signet, Heroic Intervention, Swords to Plowshares, Cultivate, Command Tower, and Casualties of War As far as I know it's not in the store anymore and won't be for the foreseeable future. It's not any actual new cards from the set, just the styles for cards already on the client
@@davestier6247 that's probably true, but I built this as a budget deck and I wanted to take advantage of the commander as much as possible and I think I did that pretty well. The full decklist utilizes some decent cards without playing the absolute worst garbage, lol
@TheDamianMichaels no doubt, I just found that the swords of x and x do serious work in the deck but yeah they, for the most part, are not budget friendly.
My personal thought with keruga that it works well with the march of machines partnering of esik and igna. Mostly cause 3 is the magic number to draw a card with the creature. Kergua is more of a back up hand filler if you run out of cards.
I just realized you're the one who suggested the deck! Thank you for that again! This deck was fun to build the list for and I enjoyed putting this video together, I always appreciate suggestions for future content!
@@AUNEDJ the deck CAN win, but it took me so many games to get it to do it's thing for the video that I genuinely wouldn't recommend building it. You can if you want, but it's probably better to do better, cooler things with Keruga or Volo separately That's just my opinion, but more power to you if you do want to build it 😂😅
I agree! When they initially approached me about it, I was super excited to build some of the decks and I'm pretty happy with them! I think more card shops should do it
Yeah, faeries are quite scary when they get going! Especially since you're in blue, there's a lot of countermagic available to disrupt the opponents from stopping your gameplan This is a budget deck tech but a nonbudget version gets access to so many free counters that it's ridiculous!
@@Leo-qb6iz that's a great suggestion! I really like that commander from a quick glance and I think I could do something with that. I'm not sure when it'll be done but I appreciate the suggestion!
Hey, so just wanted to give you a heads up that I took your suggestion and made a video with it! It'll be going up on Monday, as do all my other commander deck techs, so make sure you're subscribed so you can see it when it goes live! Thanks for the support and the suggestion!
You right, my bad. I worked on this video for a while making sure everything was perfect and I get to the end and I felt something was missing or needed tweaking At least someone pointed it out so I don't have to wonder what I did wrong anymore 😅
@@TheDamianMichaels Happens to the best of us. I'd recommend you get a second pair of eyes to look over your videos to catch any glaring mistakes and give you in person feedback. Anyways, keep up the good work!
Idk what this guy is talking about I play it in my Omnath deck. And with doubling season and other such doubling effects I play a spell and get 32 counters and yeah I do have that Tower. But theres a better way.
@@awesometubing9471 in commander it's certainly does have it's uses! I'm referring to 60-card formats where taking off a whole turn to play this usually leads to you dying, lol
@@timtauber5557 Paradox Engine is only banned in commander, it's legal in every other format besides Standard (and technically Alchemy) so it's legal for the video I built this for
@@Burden82 I tried so hard to make it work back then but it unfortunately just wasn't good. I hadn't been playing that long at the time so maybe I just wasn't that good at deck building yet but I'm glad someone got it to work for them!
@@pharaohavalon8566 well I appreciate the comment anyway for feeding the algorithm! Even if it's not for you, I appreciate the unintended support either way! Cheers!
I do play it in my jeskai energy commander deck just because I went hard on the instant speed interaction staples and do end up casting enough to make that worth it
@@anthonycannet1305 it's great in commander for sure! I should probably play it more often myself, lol. Even just as repeatable removal and no other energy, it would probably be pretty good with lots of instant and sorceries
Back in the day, this was used to generate energy more than it was to deal damage. It was pretty decent at my LGS as like a Storm Energy deck during Kaladesh Block
@@Aazdremzul I remember trying to make it work myself but it was just too slow. Even for just generating energy, there were other, better ways I'm glad to know someone made it work for themselves though!
@@Aazdremzul Harnessed Lightning doesn't target players I don't think? I'm pretty sure it only hits Creatures, but I may be mistaken Either way, Resovior is always a dope card!
@@briandudley4637 it's legal in Historic and Timeless and I assume it's legal in modern. It is broken for sure though and you could replace Tower with basically anything else and this deck would probably do the same thing 😂
For sure! I wonder if they were playing anything like the saddle Gitrog or anything. Probably not, seems too slow for constructed, but it definitely would've fit what they had going on
@@davestier6247 I'm personally one of those people that like to listen and not necessarily pay attention to what I'm watching, so I narrate everything for the benefit of those similar to myself in that regard. In some situations I don't, I uploaded a video today where I just kinda described what was happening in a general sense because it was a storm-style combo deck and it definitely would've been tedious to describe each time I untapped with Paradox Engine and activated One Ring, but in general I like to explain every action to make sure nobody gets lost I can understand why it would be annoying to some viewers and I apologize about that, it's just my personal style. It probably has to do with the Autism and ADHD driving this meat suit I call a body, lol
@@DoctorJango thanks, I appreciate that! I'm definitely working hard to improve my content! I've only been at this a few months ago I'm not surprised by the low subscriber numbers, but we'll get there eventually!
@@lt7388 yeah, I looked for those but you're right, not on Arena. I included some Foretell cards but not many were actually playable in my opinion. Just Ravenform for removal and the extra turn one I think is all I included Edit: nvm, I added a couple green ones too but I don't remember those card names, lol
I mean, I was able to make a video with 5 games with unique opponents, so that's at least 6 different people that play Explore I wouldn't say nobody plays explore with those statistics :D
@@Restokiki I mean, that's not a bad thing But yeah, dogging on Explore because you (not you but "you" as a general second person) don't like it is bad taste. Legit criticism is one thing, but straight up lying saying nobody plays it is another 😂
@@TheDamianMichaels explorer and draft are most of my arena experience. Personally I hate edh and think its existence makes the game worse but I'm not gonna lie and say no one plays it. It's the biggest format. It just kills design for 2 player.
@@Restokiki see, now that's a legit criticism about commander! I agree that designing for commander has harmed 60-card constructed in many ways, like printing cards that are busted in EDH but are straight trash in constructed into standard legal sets. It's so annoying opening something like Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant that won't ever see play outside of Tooth and Nail style decks, but at that point it's a win more card because you're playing Tooth and Nail Edit: not literal Tooth and Nail, especially talking about Standard, but Smugglers Surprise is in standard and that's close enough
Very chill vibes! Also: you can “circumvent” keruga restrictions with adventures and cycling! Just something to keep in mind if you ever revisit this deck.
@@remiboros1163 oh yeah, for sure! I took advantage of Adventures a lot with Umori when I played a Sidisi creatures deck (and I still play that deck regularly because it was so much fun, I've even improved it from what I played on video!) I might try Keruga again some day with a different commander, a Sultai deck might be better with the restriction. The curve is just so... Non-existent with Keruga to say the least With Lurrus, you can play a bunch of cheap things early and late so it's always good. With Obosh, you can go 1 into double 1 or a tap land into 3 mana ramp into 5 so the curve works. With Gyruda, same thing but the opposite, 2 drop into put Gyruda in hand or ramp on 2, 4drop on t3, 2drop + Gyruda to hand on t4. There's always a curve with the others, but Keruga just throws that out the window 😂
I would love to get another fungus themed legendary in future maybe Zuggtomy from dnd if we ever return mycotyrant is still one of my favourite green black decks though
@@reaperart7963 thanks, I appreciate the support! When I started this I genuinely didn't expect much out of myself but I'm really proud with how well everything is coming together, albeit slowly. I've got great plans for Explore and Timeless over the next few weeks so stay tuned for that!
I greatly appreciate the support! Every time I get a comment from someone watching my videos, it always puts a smile on my face. I constantly feel like I'm doing all this work to make these videos for nothing and these comments truly do make a difference in my mood! I'm excited to be done with the companions though. One day I'll do Yorion as the commander, but I think I'm gonna play some Explore or Timeless these next few weeks
@@TheDamianMichaels happy to support man, not every viewer is willing to give their time to comment etc. am sure they are enjoying as much as I do. great commenting and editing, keep the good stuff up! and whatchu think about drafts and are you good with them?
@@btria03 I used to be THE BEST at draft and sealed. In high school, I would go to every midnight pre release and I almost always got top 4 if I didn't get first. I wasn't as good at draft over sealed but I still usually did pretty good These days however, I don't play a lot of limited because I have too many responsibilities to take the time to go out and play paper magic and I have no impulse control to save my gold for limited on Arena Maybe one of these days I'll do a draft video. I actually recorded footage for a Chromatic cube a while back, but I had no idea how to structure the video so I abandoned it. It was when I first started doing all this so I might return to it later
I certainly try my best! Although that's probably the 'Tism in my brain wanting to make sure everyone understands what I'm doing. I don't like feeling lost when watching videos, so I don't want anyone else to feel that way!
@@jaceylong8646 appreciate it! I think it would probably be a lot better in paper commander with some of the better cats that just don't exist on Arena, but I think this is able to hold it's own for what it is
This is a combo tons of people know about that doesn’t actually win you the game. Describe Cephalid Breakfast or Bomberman or some other niche combo that actually wins on the spot and more people might be interested. Not trying to be harsh, it’s just unfun to see people stick combos that don’t really do anything but durdle forever.
@@Unit-Wreck I made this more as a way to get attention for a video I made for Brawl. It was cat tribal so I thought Nine Lives would be on theme. I'll be taking a break from brawl in a week or two so I'll be focusing on some explore stuff. I've got one combo in particular I'm excited to play that I haven't seen a lot of
