In the US, we had the drainage area attached to the sink basin, many years ago. I loved them. You can still find them here, but I don’t know anyone that uses them. But I miss them .

I would say the house(s) they are presenting for the US are not “Average” sized. 3000 square feet is not average. More like 1500 to maybe 2000. Giant bathrooms with no door is not average either. 1 sink, 1 toilet, 1 tub/shower is average. Bigger houses have two sinks, etc…

Loved it! Thank you so much for taking us around your neck of the woods! Do you remember what brand of spray cheese you got that you liked? I think there are a couple of brands.. I went grocery shopping yesterday and I was grabbing somethings for you.. my daughter was confused why I was grabbing same things x 2, I told her, I'm getting them for Adam so he can try American snacks! She chuckled and rolled her eyes.. 😂😂 oh, and what size shirt do you wear? I want to send you something from NC!

I think the reason the Irish government doesn't allow too many outside brands is because they want certain brands like that fake coke. If you had more choices, they wouldn't be able to push their choosen companies. Just seems like something govs would do.

Talk about a controversial list. And yes all of these are old, but over the last decade there’s been a massive country music revival happening in America. There is a LOT of absolutely phenomenal young country music artists today. Most of them are regionally famous or only state-famous today. Their music is hard to find because they’re breaking free from the industry, you gotta go down a rabbit hole to find their stuff. But give it 5 or 10 years, you’re gonna be shocked by all the phenomenal music that was being made all these years when everybody was saying country music was dead.

Also, people forget how big America is, which is why there's so many accents in America. For example, if a Londoner were to travel from London to, let's say, Moscow, he would need to travel 1,500 miles to get there. If an American were to travel from one coast to the other, they would have to travel appx 2600 miles, and that's the short route. The longer route from one coast to the other would be over 3,000 miles.

Thanks for making this! I enjoyed seeing everything you showed us. It might be big and flashy and have everything places like NYC, Tokyo, or London have, but it definitely feels like a place people can call home and enjoy time with each other as well as the natural world around them. The shopping center reminds me of what the mall in my hometown used to look like (it’s mostly empty now except for a few businesses that stay and do their own repairs, etc, and it’s been that way ever since an out-of-state developer bought it and hasn’t done anything with it) when it was full and busy. I don’t know the size of your large drink, but based on appearance alone it looks like a medium drink at the McDonald’s where I live, but the large fry looks the similar in size (so it’s probably close in comparison). The large drink might actually be somewhat similar as some local restaurants in my hometown serve large drinks that are the same size or larger than McDonald’s, but the cups’ design looks similar to yours and the large is just taller than their medium cups. And I cannot say anything about what you choose to eat as I often snack and eat things that aren’t that healthy…especially if I’m traveling even to just a nearby city from where I live because the fast food restaurants are usually the easiest to find from the highway and the foods in the gas stations along them also aren’t great and sometimes the gas stations have a fast food restaurant combined with them which my sister used to refer to such as “double trouble stops” because when my niece was really young, kindergarten age, she could make quite the scene trying to convince her mom to buy her the fast food when we stopped at one of those….a scene which didn’t work much on my sister, but Nana or Papa (my mom and dad) would usually buy something for her and bring it to her much to the consternation of my sister. We have some small locally owned grocery stores that look similar to the store you showed. They’re popular with locals due to the numerous deals they often have on items, but we do still have national stores like Walmart with all the wide selection of items, too, so when shopping it’s usually a matter of going to more than one location to pick up items depending on what’s on sale where and who sells what brands of things (the latter being imported for brand loyal consumers). So we do have grocery stores with smaller selections here in the US, they’re usually just not as well known because they’re locally owned ones that don’t exist beyond the city/town they’re in and usually have generic sounding names like “price cutter”, “buy for less”, “cash saver”, “save a lot”, “the market at [name of location]”, “food market”, “[name of owner]’s grocer”, “discount food”, “hometown food”, “hometown pride grocers”, “green market”, “home market”, or I remember in one neighborhood in my state’s biggest city there’s a locally owned supermarket that’s name is just “the local market”. Again, they might not have a huge selection, but they’ll have deals like 5 for $5 on things that Walmart sells for $2 individually as a “rollback price” (so it’d be $10 to buy 5 of them). Plus the local markets are good at selling locally made products that are especially loved by older folks who grew up with those local brands. Walmart has kinda started selling some of it, but again they charge more making the Walmart brand or some other national brand (or an Arkansas based brand) less expensive than the local brand. So I know lots of folks whose parents and grandparents buy from the local grocery stores to get those particular brands on items (dairy products, bread products, condiments, and other everyday essentials) and go to Walmart to get the other stuff that’s not available at the local stores or is less costly at Walmart.

I googled the distance and it is about 250 miles (400 kilometers) from Vegas. Four hour drive but when are going to be that close again?

I would LOVE your weather now. I live in the agriculturally rich San Joaquin Valley of California and our temperatures through at least July 11 will be right at 111F/44C. I am literally doing everything I need to do outside at just after dawn to avoid the pegged UV levels and the extreme heat, and so are my neighbors. Children cannot play outside in the afternoons. All you hear is the hum of the A/C condensers. I try not to drive anywhere in the late afternoon because the asphalt on the streets is tacky and the tires throw tiny bits of asphalt onto the body of my mid-size pick up truck. It's like the opposite of a blizzard and is largely miserable to many like me with over 98% of our DNA being from northern Europe. Wanna trade? hahahahaha

Accents are a continuum almost. I live about 15 miles outside a large city, and people in my town speak a little slower and more drawled out than downtown. Then if you drive another 15-30 miles east along the Ohio river, the accents become more and more "rural" the further out you go, which is the only way I can think of to describe them without using a mean term like hillbilly :) I spent the first 4 years of my life in Tennessee myself and have a mom who grew up on a farm down there, so my friends in Ohio always said I had a hybrid southern/midwest accent growing up.

Biscuits and gravy. Whenever its on the menu. Im getting it. Nl questions asked. Its like pizza. Even when it isnt great.... its still good. Its hard to screw up gravy that badly. Chicken fried steak with gravy is a close second. Pecan pie, key lime pie, lemon pepper wet chicken wings, homestyle mac and cheese, fried catfish with some lousiana or crystal hot sauce on top, jimmy cakes, fried okra, etc....

Some people chase because they're adrenaline junkies...they cheer and immediately drive away. Then there's another type of chaser. They love chasing, but they also provide early warning to the storm-spotting network and weather outlets...they immediately arrive to areas hit by the tornado...they come equipped with chainsaws to help make roads passable for emergency vehicles, as well as first aid kits, etc. to use as they assist with looking for people trapped in collapsed structures.

Live here in the US for a while and you might end up preferring the much simpler life there in Northern Ireland. That grocery store would be the bomb. Wife and I cannot stand going into Walmart or any grocery store in the US for that matter. Way too big and way too much stuff. Can be difficult finding the items you want at times. Oh, and we don't go into the circus that is Walmart anymore. We shop online and get the groceries delivered. So much better and less stress.

“There’s more than one accent in Texas!?” Many states have multiple accents but Texas is the size of a country so that makes sense. When I lived in NC there were variations of the southern accent even by county! Probably due to the fact that areas in the mountains tend to be more isolated.

I'm going to tell you something Adam that you're going to think is a load of crap but....my wife and I have been all over the US, places in Mexico, and most of the Caribbean. 9 years ago we headed across the pond for the first time. Flew into Dublin, had a car rental and drove from Dublin to Gallway, all places in between and back for a week. Ireland was the most beautiful and peaceful place we've ever seen or been. Honestly felt like heaven on Earth. We did not want to leave and have been wanting to come back for the last 9 years. Money and wife's bad back has unfortunately kept us from a return trip.
