When it comes to learning the piano, there are a TON of choices online. However, what frustrates most potential pianists from finding success at the instrument is having a dedicated teacher who helps to personally guide them, along with the right path.
Jazzedge has the largest selection of jazz piano lessons and blues piano lessons of any other online learning platform on the web, with hundreds of lessons for absolute beginners to advanced students in styles like Jazz, Blues, Funk, Rock, Gospel, Latin, Classical and more.
Learning jazz piano does not have to be difficult. I've been teaching students jazz piano online for over 20 years.
In these lessons, you're not just learning jazz piano. We will also be covering rock piano, blues piano, latin, gospel and more!

It works but you were likely on our email list in the past and you opted out, therefore you won't receive email from us because (if you opted out) that means you don't want email from us. So a bit of a catch-22. It is best to email us at support@jazzedge.com for this type of help because then we can look into your account. Since your email address is not listed here (and I don't suggest sharing it here either) I can't look up your account. Email us at support and we will be happy to help.
I'm a guitar player... this is an awesome lesson. the fingerings for guitar are difficult, but playing in an ensemble helps (or being creative and flexible) with that. Lessons like this are for any instrumentalist playing chords that wants to grow some jazz bones.
You! Are! Awesome! ❤❤❤ Thanks a million. I needed to learn it quickly for a bday project; and you have been immensely helpful. Miles and I share the same birthday! (Fellow creative nutcases, LOL! 🤣)
Mr Myette is truly a great teacher. He is a wonderful artist and his teaching process is the best . I've have learnt incredible tools from his program . Do yourself a favor and sign up for Jazz Edge you wont be disapointed.
While there are a TON of videos online, it really depends if you want to just learn the song or actually learn the piano along with all of its intricacies. If you want to really dig into the piano then you really want a coach, mentor, teacher. So, when looking for online lessons, you want that teacher feedback like we have with our Premier Courses at jazzedge.academy. Thanks for commenting!

You videos are amazing i am learning a lot of interesting voicings could you show me how can i make a username and password so i can get the music sheets? Thanks a lot and GodBlessing
''Don't wanna spoil the show, but the it has kinda a creepy vibe to it!' The guy with a work station where his brain should be in the photo doesn't creep you out?😁 Thank you so much for this, I have only been playing keyboard seriously for3 days, but have been playing bass guitar like a madman for 30 years, psycho funk earworm pop soloing as a busker with a wah pedal/delay even using the crap drum patterns on my Zoom fx as integral time keeping. The left/right independence is a lot easier when tapping bass as it is all closer but the 4 octave range is very limited. Did it really take you a day to get the laft hand? Me about the same, I just got the first melody in place...it's very exciting to find myself practicing so long, like it's getting addictive...The last time I felt like this was trying to learn Eminem songs for a Swiss Kareoke bar....your sure it's impossible but practice does eventually pay off. Season 2 of Severence might be out by the end of the summer, there was an actor from the show who said the wait is almost over! Thanks again, great vid!
Nice clear concept, easy to follow. I do have a question though, why do people use the drop 2? It seems like any of the diminished chord notes could be used on the bottom?
Thanks! We use drop 2 chords because it changes how the chord is voiced. When arranging for horns it also helps with the ranges of the instruments. But for piano it's really about new voicings that spread the chord out between the hands.
Great point! You can have a lot of fun playing around voicings like this by doing exactly what you said, move tops notes up, down, etc to get new chord varieties. Thanks for the comment!
Agreed! Sometimes jazz chords don't sound "great" at first, but given time and expanding one's ears you'll notice that you'll come to love them! Thanks for the comment 🙂
OK, I played acoustic guitar (folk/country) for 60 years, then got into tenor sax/jazz bands at our local community college. Because of neuropathy in my left hand I can no longer play guitar so decided to take up the piano, hoping I could still find the notes reasonably well. Took a couple of beginner classes at city college, then signed up with a recommended piano teacher. Took one lesson and realized that wasn't for me since she was a classical pianist and didn't know how to teach jazz or pop. This is the only video of yours I watched, but just watching and playing along, I learned more in an hour here than all the hours at city college and the hour-long lesson with a "real" teacher. Being retired on a very limited budget I'm not sure I can swing the cost of the membership, but I intend to try, since your teaching method and style appeals to me personally, and I think this may be the best learning tool I can find anywhere. Thanks for this video, and for pointing me in the right direction. Hope to see you in the Academy.
Thanks so much for that! Looking forward to working with you in the Academy. There is a lot more inside and a lot of lessons that break these concepts down even further.
Seriously appreciate your patience in explaining this process to people like me who passionately love music but are slow on the draw when it comes to understanding what makes a song really work. Thank you
