That hill , you were pushing the old machine abit too hard, teuck eith that hill is climb slowly not above 2000rpm and you will be okay. Road side mechanics is a no. I rather tow the car to the next town. But heating problem on a hill is a simple diagnosis and fix

im a comoner on that route. before you travel to narok make sure your car is mechanically sound because that hill will expose the faults in your car being a stretch of 6km. of course there are people who know cars break down and are always ready with tool and a coolant bottle. the unfortunate thing is that that is not usually car coolant but food colour mixed with water. always be aware!
You're very right. It is not a coolant, we realized that two days later. Now, we travel with our own coolant and diagnosing tools. Please keep it here and lets traverse Kenya & Africa together.
