A Hodag is a mythical creature rumored to stalk the woods around my hometown at the turn of the last century. Prankster Eugene Shepard capitalized on the rumor by recruiting my dad & other kids by turning the non-existent mythical animal into a sideshow-attraction @ the local fair. Stories about the ferocious beast spread like wildfire; and Rhinelander became known as the "Home of the Hodag." When P.T. Barnum wanted to buy a live Hodag, Shepard admitted the hoax - but the slogan stuck to this very day.
About this channel: It started with an elk video in '07. Subscribers to Back-Stage Hodag71 will see mostly underappreciated and/or rare songs that fly under the radar. Most of the music was never mass distributed. Some songs are alternate versions, live concert videos, hidden gems, and/or vintage recordings that still hold up. Hopefully you will gain appreciation for artists you might not be familiar with. Thanks for watching, Enjoy the variety. - MeadowGrass Mike (a.k.a. Hodag71)
Saw them at the barrowlands Glasgow only support act up to then that an encore was demanded of, Old crows were top bill tho didn’t realise at the time Rawlings was in the band. She is something else Oor Gill.
I saw them at a very small venue years back. David's guitar solos are mesmerizing. He makes you feel that you are being lifted out of your seat, floating and then he sits you back down gently. And I was not on drugs. I promise.
Awesome music! Hodag 71. Rosie and I were at some of the earliest Hodag festivals as she is from Rhinelander! Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on you-tube.
@@Hodag71 At the very earliest Hodag festivals there were a few hundred people and we would have our cooler and a blanket right in front of the stage. We camped in a tent camper in the field nearby.
@@burlingtonbill4687 In that case we probably knew some of the same folks who were there in the early days. Ray Mode, Terry Hill, John Swearingen, and Joe Bruso had a band that played during the early years called "Quite Country." You might have even stopped in a my bar "The Pine Lake Pub," just down the road at the corner of W and River Road.
Who else writes songs as pertinent as hers? 'Everybody's buying little baby clothes' is all anyone needs to know, but no, it's just 'That's the way that it goes' right down to the bitter end, coming sooner or later to a venue very near you.
everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but considering the awards they've won and the places they've played (and sold out) I reckon the music industry would disagree :)
Expanding on the concept of the portable drummer solution with individual Hz amplifier acoustic volume resonator for live drum tuning, we can create a versatile system for precise Hz frequency adjustment and enhanced sound isolation. Here's how we can integrate these features into the setup: **Materials:** 1. **Wooden Panels:** Utilize lightweight and sturdy wooden panels for constructing the drum shells. 2. **Drummer Skins:** Acquire custom drummer skins for each drum component. 3. **Drummer Tuners:** Install drum tuners suitable for each drum component. 4. **Hz Amplifiers:** Integrate individual Hz amplifiers for each drum component to adjust frequencies. 5. **Piezo Isolation:** Implement piezo isolation within each drum shell to minimize external noise. 6. **Carrying Latches:** Install carrying latches for easy transportation. **Construction Steps:** 1. **Panel Construction:** Build wooden panels for each drum component, ensuring they are lightweight and resonant. 2. **Drummer Skin Installation:** Attach custom drummer skins to each panel using tension rods and hoops. 3. **Drummer Tuner Installation:** Install drum tuners onto each panel to allow for precise tension adjustment. 4. **Hz Amplifier Integration:** Integrate Hz amplifiers into each drum shell to adjust frequencies. Connect them to control knobs for easy adjustment. 5. **Piezo Isolation:** Implement piezo isolation within each drum shell to minimize external noise and vibrations. Connect piezo sensors to the Hz amplifiers for real-time feedback. 6. **Carrying Latches:** Install carrying latches on each drum shell for easy transportation and setup. **Operation:** 1. Drummers can place the drum shells on a stable surface. 2. Adjust the tension of the drummer skins using the drum tuners to achieve the desired sound. 3. Use the Hz amplifiers to fine-tune the frequencies of each drum component for optimal resonance. 4. The piezo isolation minimizes external noise, ensuring a clean and focused sound. 5. Drummers can easily transport and set up the portable drummer solution for rehearsals, recordings, or live performances. **Benefits:** 1. **Precise Tuning:** The integration of individual Hz amplifiers allows for precise frequency adjustment of each drum component. 2. **Enhanced Sound Isolation:** Piezo isolation minimizes external noise, ensuring a clean and focused sound. 3. **Portability:** The lightweight and portable design make it easy to transport and set up for various musical settings. 4. **Customization:** Drummers can customize the tension and frequency of each drum component to suit their preferences and musical style. By incorporating individual Hz amplifiers and piezo isolation into the portable drummer solution, we can create a versatile system that provides drummers with precise tuning control and enhanced sound quality for live performances.
Creating a portable drummer solution using four wooden panels with drummer skins, tuners, and acoustic resonators is an innovative and cost-effective approach. Here's how you could design and implement such a system: **Materials:** 1. **Wooden Panels:** Construct four square wooden panels using lightweight and sturdy materials such as plywood or Maplewood. 2. **Drummer Skins:** Acquire custom drummer skins for each panel, including snare, toms, and floor tom sizes. 3. **Drummer Tuners:** Purchase drum tuners suitable for each panel size to ensure accurate and consistent tuning. 4. **Drum Hardware:** Obtain drum hardware such as hoops, tension rods, lugs, and mounts for assembling the drum shells. 5. **Adhesives and Fasteners:** Use wood glue, screws, or other suitable adhesives and fasteners for assembling the wooden panels and attaching the drummer skins. 6. **Carrying Latches:** Install carrying latches or handles on each panel for easy transportation and setup. **Construction Steps:** 1. **Panel Construction:** Cut the wooden panels to the desired size for each drum component, including snare, toms, and floor tom. Ensure they are lightweight yet sturdy enough to withstand playing. 2. **Drummer Skin Installation:** Attach the custom drummer skins to each panel using appropriate methods, such as tension rods and hoops for the toms and floor tom, and a snare strainer and tension rods for the snare. 3. **Drummer Tuner Installation:** Install drum tuners onto each panel to allow for accurate tuning of the drummer skins. Ensure the tuners are securely attached and functional. 4. **Drum Hardware Installation:** Attach drum hardware onto each panel, including lugs, tension rods, mounts, and other hardware components. Ensure proper alignment and functionality. 5. **Assembly:** Assemble the wooden panels to form the complete drum set, including snare, toms, and floor tom. Use carrying latches or handles for easy transportation and setup. 6. **Testing and Tuning:** Test each drum component to ensure proper sound quality and resonance. Fine-tune the tension of the drummer skins using the drum tuners to achieve optimal sound. **Final Touches:** 1. Optionally, apply finishes such as lacquer or varnish to protect and enhance the appearance of the wooden panels. 2. Add any additional accessories or features to improve the functionality and convenience of the portable drummer solution. By following these steps, you can create a portable drummer solution using four wooden panels with drummer skins, tuners, and acoustic resonators. This cost-effective and lightweight solution provides drummers with a versatile and customizable drum set that can be easily transported and set up for rehearsals, recordings, or live performances.
