The only thing she forgets to say after "take your cat to the veterinarian" is,have lots of money, cause just to see, literally the vet to look at your cat will cost you starting $75-150 some places even more. it's called a "professional opinion". I recommend you call a veterinarian hospital and talk prices and don't let them sell you extra bullshit*t. It's like going to the cat dealership, you don't know anything about cars but you just want your car fixed so you can leave. Same thing. Talk prices before you go there and don't budge. If anything PAY AS SOON AS YOU GET THERE. You may think I'm being dramatic, I'm not, I'm saving you time and money. I worked for a clinic I've seen it first hand. If this helps even one person it's worth it.
I was bit by a cat in Lubbock, TX, 6 days ago. The cat died next day and was confirmed to had rabies. I went to the emergency medical center in Lubbock (UMC), they refused to give me rabies shot because they said its too expensive. I also notified the CDC in Atlanta, didn't get any answer. I don't know what else to do. They refuse to treat me in Texas, the nurse explained to me that the rabies treatment costs $40K and I am not important enough for that.
Hi I live in Portland Oregon I have a year old male kitten that needs to be neutered all the low-income waiting lists are full I have even called 211 to find resources. I'm from California, where there was always a convenient Haven Humane Society that would always have reasonable prices for anything your animal needed. In Oregon, the veterinarians are wanting $400 to do a neutering on my cat, and I can't afford that. Can you offer me any help on what I should do. Because I don't know what to do. Help please. Thank you

@@user-pz5ni8vq9r I was too worried and cancelled the appointment. I ordered the metal scraper off Amazon and cleaned his teeth the best I could myself, one tooth at a time. Took awhile to get thru but he let me. There are vets that clean teeth without putting the dog under sedation.
My dog is 13 going on 14 with mitral valve of his heart. He needs dental work but so worried. He had a recent echo and I was told that he'd have the green light for this procedure but idk so worried.
How did the procedure go for your dog? My shih tzu is 12 and has a degenerative valve dse. They did an EKG last August 31, 2023 and they gave him a green light for the dental procedure on Nov. 2nd
I thought cheese was causing my cat’s constipation and told my vet I quit giving it to her. He scolded me and said there is nothing wrong with giving cheese to cats. She was already overweight. She was also constipated for 5 months and developed a bout of diarrhea. My vet emailed me and said to feed her tuna and if it wasn’t better in 4 days then I could give her OTC Kaopectate at 4ml every 6 hours.

My cat had an odd gait, her ilium bone was sticking out of her back on the left side of her sacrum, and she was straining to poop with no results. My vet said that the bone sticking up was not bothering her. He knocked on it like a door but he did not manipulate her leg or watch her walk, you could see it sticking out from 10’ away. He said she was in good health because she was purring. He eventually treated the constipation with 40mg depomedrol injections every 2 weeks. He emailed me back and told me to feed her foods higher in protein and if it wasn’t better in 4 days, I could give her OTC Kaopectate at 4ml every 6 hours and he could also repeat the steroid injection. Her ears were yellow at this time, pale gums and dehydrated. But they don’t administer fluids.
As with everything, train them to. You are the boss, not your pup. When you say "my dog won't let me" that can be rephrased as "you let your dog tell you no". Start by training your pup to be held in various positions, repositioned by you, all areas of the body handled without retort, snout, ears, legs, paws, between toes, hindquarters, back, belly, tail, etc. If your pup resists any of those areas, firmly tell them no in a stern voice and continue to handle the problematic area and freely reposition the dog in different positions like a vet tech (or perhaps a child) would. If your pup snaps or growls at you scruff them immediately and firmly to the ground and give them the "big no" (very loud, very stern). If they try to resist or escaping the scruff, pin their other areas of the body with a knee to the hind quarters (just enough weight to restrict movement) and your second hand on their shoulder area (just enough weight to restrict movement). Do not let them wriggle or move. When the pup stops moving and elicits the submissive whine, release them. They've acknowledged you are in control and are pack lead. Wait a few seconds, then re-engage handling the problematic area and repositioning at will. You're letting your dog assert pack lead which will cause many more issues over time. Most commonly this can present as your dog snapping and acting aggressive towards other dogs in your immediate area. Your pup will do this because they mistakenly believe they're pack leader and that it's their responsibility to protect you. Some dogs will escalate to doing this "protective" behavior towards humans or even children. Good luck! Training dogs is typically more about training ourselves.
@@RussSchampers sorry, but i kindly disagree with this training. in most cases, you want to make this a more positive experience for dogs as to NOT cause reactivity. yelling at them for expressing their boundaries in the onky way that they can is how you induce more fear; thus, more reactivity. it is not about being the "bigger dog" and more about making sure they are comfortable and at ease so that you do not experience future issues. the better tactic in this scenario is to slowly get your dog uses to touches on the ears. touch their ear, give them a treat and tell them they are a good dog. then, do it again. start doing it for longer and longer until you are essentially massaging their ear from the inside. make sure to do this in short bursts as to not make them too anxious. then, get them used to the cotton ball. a quick touch, a couple brushes, then put it in for a second and take it back out, etc. make sure there are lots of treats, pets, or whatever else your dog may like and enjoy. this way, your dog doesnt associate these actions with anxiety. if you punish your dog for moving away and stuff, then they will think they are not allowed to do that. and whats the next step after moving away? nipping, biting, etc. you are teaching them to go straight to extremes this way. happy training!

I thought Rabies ONLY infected mammals......and can infect EVERY kind of mammal......but NOT other kinds of animals like birds and reptiles....but this man seems to be suggesting that NON mammals CAN indeed get rabies in certain circumstances. Thats contrary to everything Ive heard and read before, but he appears pretty reputable. Id like to know more/clarification.
