I like the transmission you’re talking about which I hope is the best one your talking about, but I would like that on a Scagg 48 inch cut with a Kawasaki motor or the EFI motor really is what. I want with a nice seat. What do you have?
@@jd-pf2oc good choice :). I think they did an amazing job on the new look and design. I love the dual belt system they offer on the deck. It’s almost impossible for the belt to slip on them :).
Hi Kevin I'm looking at a Maverick HD or the Rebel? I'm a professional landscaping contractor which do you like? I like the Maverick HD because it's 80 inches long the price should be about $9000 thanks my friend
@@harryerhart5978 so while the hd is one of our best sellers. For a professional if you cut and use the Rebel it is much bigger of a machine, but it has to be to hold the better engineered deck. Same as with a Scag patriot vs the tiger cat. If you never cut on a rebel there will be no buyers remorse, but as soon as you do you will realize the mistake you made. I would beg you to take the leap, but I would be doing the same thing with any brand in this same situation. There is a gap in every brand where you to to just being able to call a machine full commercial, into going into full bang it up hard core commercial status. There are better machines of course, but once you get into this category with any brand they are much larger to compensate for the larger transmissions and the longer and more velocity pushing deck systems. The hustler xone is worlds more than a mower than a hustler Fastrak sdx. We will definately try to push you when you are here shopping. I promise that extra $22 to $40 a month in payment is gonna be made up real quick with the better performing equipment

Unfortunately, the EZT non-serviceable transmissions are the weak points on that mower. Aggressive-looking? I don't have a small pee-pee...I want something nice-looking. Is the 26 Kohler on that EFI? I was considering a Bad Boy Maverick HD...but the Kohler 26 on it was EFI (Just more to break; more hassle and expense to repair) so I opted for the Toro Titan HD. Most of these mowers in their respective classes are pretty much the same- the choice usually comes down to what trannies it has, and the gauge of the deck... Go for a 7 ga. deck..and you'll either have to take a lighter-duty tranny or pay more. 7 ga. is a little overkill for most homeowners...10 would be fine (with a ZT 2800 or 3100 tranny)..just stay away from stamped decks (like on John Deere's!)
Outstanding information, I’m on my second bad boy first was the 60” ZT still running 14 years one trans replaced, running a 37 hp rogue 4 years now , love the mower but the throttle system is trash
Very informative video. I have 2 acres of land and have a cutting area of about 1 1/2 acres of mostly flat yard. I'm considering the Bad Boy Magnum with the 48" deck and need to make a purchase very soon. After watching our video, I looked and the Bad Boy Magnum comes with the 2200 Drive Systems transmission. Would that be a good enough for my needs? Would you have any recommendations on that other? Love the way you ended your video with your testimony! God provides when we just stop and listen.
@@johnlavarine8155 I would highly recommend stepping up to atleast the 2800 serviceable on the avenger, but it only comes in a 54”, but would highly recommend the zt elite 48 kohler pro with front suspension and 3100s 😎🔥
David Ramzy is sorta for the guy that works one 9 to 5 job and ant into bizz .if it ant got a hydraulic motor on the wheel i ant buying it seems thats the way to build them .but i do not do mowers much .
Yup I bought an old Exmark 60” Lazer Z with a pump and motor system I mow an acre after I stripe it, it’s 2 acres. I’m going to have to put a new motor on it because that stupid Kohler is burning oil like it’s going out of style…I’m putting a Kawasaki on it…that thing cuts likes no buddies business.

@@bryanhauschild4376 bearings are strange cats. I’ve seen failures instantly when turning on blades, to bearings good for 2000 hours. I saw a lot more bearing failures during Corona times because the manufacturers were scrambling to get what was available. Anytime a bearing fails on a bad boy, hustler, or kubota here I replace them with a top of the line class a timken, or jcl bearing and we typically see around 1200 hours
@@RealJeep Ferris is one of the most expensive brands and doesn’t sell as fast as the less expensive brands like gravely/bad boy/hustler etc…. My guess would be its end of year, he is prolly paying 3% over prime on interest with that mower on his floor plan and he is trying to lean you in that direction. Unless you have a really bad back and other mowers he has don’t have suspension and he is trying to help you for the rest of your life not get beat half to death 🤔
@@kgmowers Thanks! Yep, I'm an old guy and have some pretty rough ground in east Tennessee. I've been mowing with a pull behind finish mower on my tractor and it does "beat me half to death." I would gladly pay for something with suspension.
Congrats on the accolades! Definitely headed your way for that new Revult X, unless too hard for wife to raise deck then Hustler Super SF will come into play.
$8K? Sorry, I can’t spend 7% of my yearly income on a mower. And Dave Ramsey tells us, if you can’t pay cash you can’t afford it. Kudos for your witness.
@@bryanhauschild4376 if you buy stuff like I did it’s free 😂. If I would’ve listened to Ramsey I would still be living in my grandma in laws 25k house. I bought 5 bad boy mowers average $7500 on my credit card 0% for a year it cost me $90. Sold them all the first day then sold 160 more of those mowers out of my house in 2008 at an average of $7500 each never paying for one, always using my credit All of this started with a 13k grasshopper diesel mower I bought to mow my yard of 1 acre after getting tired of push mowing. I came home with a $300 and something payment for 48 months. My mower cost half as much as my house was worth. And it was $2k more than my brand new stripped down single cab v6 dodge pickup was new that I picked it up in (the lawn mower salesman said that this mower was more expensive than my pickup), he really almost passed out when I told him it’s almost as much as my house I live in. My first yard payed me $750 a week for around 7 hours of work mowing a cemetary, then my next yard payed me $150 a week. I went from clearing $700 a week working around 50 hours a week to working on a Saturday making more than I made all week on my $13k mower someone else gave me the money for. Fast forward 16 years later now we physically own 21 homes paid for, just bought our dream home over looking the Pacific Ocean in Central America paid cash for it, and now we are owner finding people homes and helping them get out of renting and doing the biblical thing becoming lenders and not borrowers. It took some borrowing to get to this point though and it all started with me buying a mower waaaay beyond my means as the Lord led and directed me.
Does the "Scag Simply The Brave" promo now include teachers/educators? I have seen some dealers say that it does but I haven't been able to confirm that online anywhere?

I think I’m seeing a walker mower back there in the shop. Outta have one of them out there but the price is kinda high. They do cut really nice though and handle very nicely
I would have bought the Maverick HD, but I didn't want fuel injection(EFI)- as EFI sooner or later ends in driveability issues and problems, which ya can't fix unless you have a special small engine scanner (c. $700!)..and the parts as expensive or more expensive than the ones on your car! Which is likely why Bad Boy only has a 2 year warranty (Also, who wants to be tied to the dealer forever..and have to shuttle the mower back and forth and leave it there?). EFI doesn't belong on a lawnmower- the scant fuel savings (if any) aren't worth it- especially if you're just a home/acreage owner and not a pro. Dirt and moisture + time = EFI death. If you keep your mower a long time, as I do, you do NOT want EFI. I can fix ANYTHING on a carbed unit. I opted for the Toro Titan Max (and it was $1500 cheaper) has double-protected scalp wheels too...only the deck is not as heavy as the BB (But heavy enough) and it doesn't have suspension/suspension seat..but I'm 62 and have been careening around on mowers and tractors for a long time, so I don't need a cushy ride. (It's plenty comfortable for me)
@@kgmowers True. Trouble is, 23 HP isn't enough for a 60" deck. For a semi-commercial mower, 23HP is a joke. Really, even 26 is pushing it. Really a shame though, 'cause I really liked the Maverick HD.
@@bobbylibertini I’m sorry I didn’t get to talk to you before. The toro Titan max comes with the kohler 26hp homeowner 7000 engine. It is the same motor offered on our $4699 Bad Boy avenger. If you would have stepped up to the bad boy maverick under 7k and got a kohler confidant 25hp it has tons more power and has double the life span on the engine. Then if you would have upgraded to the maverick HD you would have got an absolute full blown commercial 3 times longer lasting engine at 23.5hp the way they design commercial engines even blow away most 30hp engines like the Briggs cyclonic. It’s all in the quality and parts. Some people get hung up on hp. If you will mow on a 21hp kohler command engine 60” deck it would blow a 26hp kohler 7000 out of the water on sheer power and torque and juice to the blades :). I’ve sold several 27hp kawasaki fx engines on 72” hustler xones that had extremely powerful cut quality and power. Most of the guys coming in for 72” decks want a 40hp now 🙈
@@kgmowers I've actually heard that about the Kawa 23's. If I had been able to demo one, I would have tried it...but sadly, the dealers around here suck and have squat in stock...so that wasn't an option. I believe the Mav. HD comes with the ZT3200 trannies too- not that I know how that differs from the 3100's on the Toro.... BB dealer was willing to give me a fair trade-in price on my Grasshopper diesel too ($4K)...but I still would have had to put out $5500 for the BB. I sold the 'Hopper privately for $4200, and only had to put out $3300 cash for the Toro... Ah, I dunno- it was a hard choice. I think pretty much most of the mowers in the >$7K range are pretty good. Hey, I really wish I could've afforded a new Grasshopper, but even a gas job goes for $14K! Hey, this Toro can REALLY hold a steep hill though (and I've got plenty of them!).
@@bobbylibertini 3100s are homeowner as well 3200s on the maverick can last much longer for heavier periods of usage, almost twice as long in most cases, then the maverick hd had 3400s which are paired with the fx kawa class engine and is made to use every day all day long. You can see the tremendous price gouging that toro does by sitting a same priced bad boy, gravely, or really any non corporate brand next to it. Thats why it’s so easy to get much more machine from brands like gravely, bad boy, bobcat, hustler, grasshopper, Scag, etc because brands like Ferris, exmark, toro, wright, kubota, Deere, and the more “corporate style” mower companies all seem to be more profit driven than actually improving product and trying to keep the price down for the consumer. It seems like the big guys are forgetting about the little guys, and the industry is taking notice. Bad boy sold well over 100 thousand mowers this year, the president of Scag was in my dealership yesterday and she said that Scag has taken 25% of the entire market share. She is only the second president of any mower company that’s ever walked into my dealership, and that spoke volumes. She is out on her own boots on the ground visiting dealers and making seeing what she can improve on as a president. That one act alone has shifted something in our dealership to promote their products heavier, this was unheard of. The last top official to do this in my house was Robert Foster the previous owner of Bad Boy and Spartan and he not only came in he stayed for days at a time, and helped show products, taught people how to drive ztrs, joked and genuinely loved on us, our customers, and radically loved his products. We became the largest volume dealer in the world for bad boy mowers 5 years after meeting him face to face with 1 employee, then became #2 for Spartan mowers, and have continued to be a top dealer for Bad Boy every since. There were a lot of factors why, but the owner igniting passion in me for his product and him going above and beyond for me when I tore up my mower going down the highway when it fell off my trailer blew me away. For this reason alone I steer clear of the huge corporate owned mowers. Toro charged you almost $7k for a mower you can buy from a much more caring company with a heavier built 7 Guage deck instead of the rinky 10, much nicer components, parts, and love put in the product for $5649 from bad boy and would have also got a front suspension system to make the ride better. Don’t get me wrong, they all make good products, but if another company can build a better product for 20% less to the consumer, then they can do it as well in this rough economy. If we all boycott this companies literally taking advantage of people they will be forced to be more competitive and offer a better product to the consumer for a lower price. We have a dealer in town who gave up Stihl said it wasn’t performing in their dealership. Stihl is the same price in every dealership in the United States. We bought all of the product from the dealer for inventory. When we started unloading the equipment out of the trailer I began to notice price tags on each item. Each weedeater was marked up $50 over retail, each blower was $75 to $100 higher, chainsaws were $50 to $200 higher. It blew my mind how many people saw that and never stepped foot in there again 🙈. I will never promote a toro or an exmark ever to anyone on the planet earth knowing with all my heart a human being can buy a better built product for 20% less.. or get a waaaay better quality mower for the same price from Literally any other brand of mower 🙈
I m a professional landscaper,,,I bought 2 Dixiechopper en 2005,,commercial one of course I ran those mower for 15 years every day all day ,,,never had a problem,,,they have a generac engine,,,,25 and 33 horses, none of any mower will beat the durability of those mower a had
