One of my favorite stories is about a young man and a woman living in upper New York State in the 1820s or 30s. They had absolutely nothing when they married and went out on their own without even a roof over their head. The man's father used to tease them. Telling them when life got really tough for them, they would come home. But that only made them more resolved to make it on their own. The young man went to work chopping down and hewing trees, and building a cabin. The young woman set to work spinning yarn and weaving it. Over time they became more and more prosperous. She raised a flock of geese to make feather beds and pillows. The man used an ox to tap sugar maple trees. And made a lot of money on syrup. And his father did not tease them anymore. The difference in America between then and today, is that men and women were taught how to take care of each other and raise families, and they relished the role. Most women had no problem marrying a man with nothing, expecting to do their part to help build a life together. Today, most western women don't even look at a man unless he is successful already. It is like they are not willing to run the race with the man, they wait at the finish line for the winner. And most of them don't take their marriage vows seriously to remain committed and faithful to the end of their lives. I am not trying to be critical of any single person or the circumstances they came from. It is just a change of attitudes world wide. My dad used to tell me what his grandfather told him. Don't be unequally yoked in marriage. It was in reference to a pair of horses pulling a wagon. If one horse pulled harder than the other, that horse would do most of the work, and would wear out. If a pair of horses was matched, meaning both horses would pull equally hard, such pairs were highly valued. Unless a woman or a man is not equally committed to not just the marriage, but willing to work to build their lives and families, then their marriage is more likely to be unhappy and fail.
Food portions in America are huge, but then again, I toss away what I don't consume! In America, mash potatoes or bread rules. I love eating rice, but white rice is my least favorite served rice as served in the Philippines. Spanish rice, hanging rice, fried rice, and sweet rice are more appealing to my appetite... Oh yeah, I almost forgot about LOU GAW (please forgive my spelling)! It's the thick rice rice usually made by my Filipina wife that has chopped onions and chicken bits.
@@UrbanSipfly Agree and very high calories. My Husband loves that too we call it lugaw yeah It's good we always eat that here in Florida when the weather is super cold.
Tricycles, jeeps are ideal travel modes for light weight (80 kilograms) passengers like the average size Filipinos not a convenient way to travel for the average size westerner in America.
There are taxes of all sorts here in the USA (even hidden taxes, the taxes applied that no one tells you about until it's too late)! Airport tax Phone tax Cable TV tax Internet Tax Shipping tax (Amazon) And the list goes on...
Lolol at Americans only being WHITE PEOPLE (2 beautiful Filipinas are so innocent)! It's obvious that the African Slave Trade history didn't make it to the Philippines...
As far as getting a fishing permit, it's very easy and cheap to get. Also, depending on the state, you might have the option to get a day permit or one year.
@@elporteroful True. In my town here in Florida getting that permit was cheap but not easy lots of people in the line getting different kind of permits and renewing their tags, driver license etc. And need to make an appointment first before going there. Thanks for sharing,Have a great weekend!.
You don't have to tip if you don't want to. It's not mandatory. A lot of the waiters/waitresses have come to expect it, but you are not required to pay it.
Weather wise here in Oklahoma it is unpredictable. We can have summer temperatures 1 day and a blizzard the next any time of year. It keeps life interesting lol. My Filipina wife Rose has adapted perfectly. And that's the true strength of the Filipinos to adapt
You are right, there is a lot of local variation in the US, culturally and racially. As a child my father and I fished without a permit. I think it varies state by state and depending on what you are fishing for. River fishing is important to have a permit because many fish are raised in hatcheries and released into the river. No taxes on clothing in NYC. Nobody likes tipping culture in the US. The shoes in house rule varies. Some care, some don't. I think it's becoming more common to remove shoes.
@@AdventuresofaFilipina20 hi thank you for quick reply, would it be possible to visit your fruit garden also I am coming to sun juan in early november , when is the fruit season? how do I come to your place from sun juan cruise port? thank you very much.
@@showkatkhan8461 Depends on Fruit you were looking for. Some tropical fruit is over like santol and mango. And currently we are not in Puerto Rico right now. we will back in January to harvest some oranges and clean the property.
Highest concentration of whites in the US now is white Cubans in Miami Dade county and highest concentration of blacks is st Petersburg Pinellas county
Life expectancy in USA is going down each year because of our poor food choices. 60% of all food has been processed. Shelf stable chemicals. And really weird flavor additives. Poor people in food deserts eat 90 percent processed factory food. You are right about food in America. It's becoming one of the worst.
@@davidheiens3099 Yup. And some fresh vegetables and fruits are coated with wax. Example are apple, lemon, lime. thank you for sharing that. Have a great weekend!.
I was shocked after being in the Philippines for many years and I returned to the U.S., I joined some Filipinos in the U.S. Facebook groups but no Filipinas wanted to chat me or meet. Not friendly anymore like in the Philippines.
Adorable little lady. Here we don't usually do all that. We usually just have cake and ice cream then open any gifts there maybe. I live in New England.✌️❤️🙏🙏🇺🇸
For my wife, it was because her Filipino BF cheated on her. Also, she thought that she was getting old (31 when we met, I was 34). So she gave this foreign guy a shot, and we've been married 23 years already.
My daughters grandma is the best. Even though things didn't work out with my ex girlfriend, her family still takes care of me when I come visit. I'm very thankful of them, because they don't have to be hospitality to me. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack, karaoke and lots of laughter. I can't wait to be back. 😊
*****GENTS PLEASE LISTEN***** A Filipina is DETRIMENTALLY NOT for you if; 1) she's broke 2) her family is broke 3) she's a single mom 4) she's married 5) she needs a salary or allowance 6) her family needs financial support 7) she lies about ANYTHING, especially lying about small irrelevant things 8) she displays tampo and anger 9) she's simple minded, sensitive, lives in alternative reality, can't handle criticism about what's wrong, about herself, about the Philippines and about Filipinos. 10) she lets you get taken by her family, her friends and her countrymen. ** In other words, about 80% of Filipinas is NOT for you!!!!!!!!
tampo is your amygdala (lizard brain) activating, putting you into an irrational state, which suppresses your pre-frontal cortex (the rational part of your brain). You can halt it immediately by simply stating what the emotion is you are feeling. So if you are upset just say "I'm upset". The moment you do your amygdala will quiet down and the pre-frontal cortex re-activates and you are back in a rational state and able to problem solve. Rachel, you seem very critical of the USA. I am engaged to a Filipina waiting on her Fiancée Visa. I saw your VLOG and thought I would watch it to maybe forward it to my Fiancée. However, after listening to you, I don't think I would forward this. Your view is very different from most vlogs I have watched on the subject. I think you should move back to the Philippines they way you think of the USA. My Fiancée wants to come here. I would have moved to the Philippines if she wanted to stay.
@@richardbaize7003 @richardbaize7003 Hi there , Well we're just sharing our experience living here, I know each person has own beliefs and opinions 😉. Good luck to your fiance visa journey. Btw Thanks for watching.
The USA sucks and Rachel sees what we all see. You don't even want anyone in the USA if you are shopping for a fiance in the Philippines but yet you want to tell Rachel that she should move back to the Philippines? You are a prime example of USA weirdos who think you can tell EVERYONE what to do. We laugh at USA privileged people like you sir.
In the United States around 69 or 70 of divorces are initiated by the woman. The men don't want the divorces. So telling a Filipina to be worried that her husband might divorce her is completely backwards. More often, in the united states, the men should be worried that their wife is going to divorce her. Statistically it goes up to 90% chance that the wife will initiate the divorce if she is college educated. Much of the reason that American men are interested in a Filipina is specifically because their former spouse has divorced them and taking advantage of them in the courts.
Great dialogue. I’ve been trying to learn some Basayan as my Filipina is coming to the US soon. It’ll be easier to communicate with her family that don’t speak English well, too. I also learned why my Filipina confuses “he” and “she” frequently even though she does speak English well. Great dialogue, ladies, and great format. It’s gotten us all to think and talk about things. I’m a new subscriber now!😊
In us, girls get divorced. Several reasons. Add in their favor to get divorce. When? How's the kid? No remember which ones are right or left. Will you hold up a finger and a thumb? If the finger as I mix an l, it's the left hand if it doesn't, it's the right hand.
Loved the format of this video. You are right, most Americans eat garbage. And so, America is the 5th overweight country on earth. But dear ones, I have lived many years in the Philippines and they are the fattest in SE Asia. Rice is a carbohydrate. The glycemic index of white rice is identical to wheat bread. As far as Filipino vs American food, I love the bbq pork and chicken in the Philippines over the USA because it is raised better. But America has awesome food. I can get a NY steak, sour cream and a variety of cheeses whenever I want. I can choose between organic NY steak, Ribeye and Tri tip every day, which is far better meat than you can find in the Philippines. I love Filipinos. I think they are the sweetest people I have ever met, but I have only been to a couple dozen countries. In America, they have the choice of the best foods from all over the world. I absolutely love spicy Mexican, Hunan, Sichuan and Thai foods. Those are common restaurants in the USA. The only place there are Filipino restaurants is where Filipinos are gathered in large numbers like Seattle, Tacoma and San Diego. I lived in Hawaii for 10 years and did not see a traditional Filipino restaurant there. But there were a few Jollibee restaurants on the islands. Jollibee is not traditional Filipina food but the same junk food you are critiquing in the USA.
