I am pretty much a visual and audio learner. I truly appreciate you taking your time to share much needed information, especially when I come from a different major. My field is actually psychology
Thank you so much for this video it is very helpful! As an education student in 2021 I wanted to update everyone that learning styles are no longer considered a valid factor when determining the method of instruction. They are now thought of as "preferences" but there is no evidence that these preferences have an effect on student learning. Just wanted to share!
so far everything is solid except the last two levels of blooms taxonomy are switched. the top one is creating and the one right below it is evaluating
How are you guys studying for Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT): Grades 7-12 (5624)? I'm having a hard time finding good resources besides this video
PAYAGE???!!!! are you kidding me???? you did not even bother to learn the name of one of the most well known theorists and you are "teaching " someone?? you are a joke ....
Sladjana dankovic Lol. This literally was just an assignment for a class. Wasn’t intended for anyone else to watch. Sorry 1 word on a 45 minute video offended you so much 😂
Hateful much? Damn. Mispronouncing a name just means someone learned about it by READING. That's all. Get over yourself. I certainly hope you never go into education with that toxic attitude.
Taylor Coleman that’s cool that you did this for a class! I’d imagine you aced that Praxis after this thorough assignment :) I was kind of reading through comments to see if you mention why you made the video... seems its helped lots of folks! Kudos to you ;)
In a metro ..8am omw to ther test center.. this is my last attempt at cramming... can't focus all i keep thinking is .. . Which southern state is this guy from? Hmmm maybe hes from mississippi.. or Tennessee. Oh lorddddd
ETS introduced one of the biggest scams ever for corporate testing and teacher certification called the PLT. Yet it still lives on and takes your money and thousands of participants. This test has no influence on your teaching and is meant just as another layer of redundancy. If you have attended college and pass your content area test, the PLT should be a non factor standing in your way to becoming a professional educator. Ever wonder why they use essay questions for this test? It is subjective and they use non aligned metric to determining your score that is unfair and specious. Since the year 2000 dozens of states once used this test and eventually eliminated the mandate to taking this test as it delayed thousands of applicants to becoming teachers.
Absolutely! And yet, states persist in requiring it for certification whether you are new or have many years of service. It is all about the de-professionalization of teaching and the lack of trust in teachers (mainly female) and their ability to do the work.
Oh on top of the money grabbing of the test, get this... I applied for a preK-12 art teaching license and paid the 50 dollars to DC to apply and they email me back saying that I have to retake the PLT (even with passing scores) because I took early learners (ETS website says DC accepts this), but apparently preK doesn't count as "early learners" for DC and now I have to pay again for another test and do either K-6, 5-9, or 7-12, even though they are virtually all the same????? Oh and I have to reapply for the license through the website again and pay another 50 dollars???? OK America????
Thanks for all of the views and comments! Trust me, I know it’s dry, but it was a LOT of research for my Master’s class. Please be sure to check out my wife’s Teachers Pay Teachers account and website! Littleteacherwife.com Tons of amazing resources for elementary and middle school!
@@deaddoll7618 Thanks for letting me know! My wife stopped using the domain a couple years back. She still has some amazing resources on Teachers Pay Teachers if you’re looking for some!
Thanks so much for this! I've been looking at PRAXIS study materials but they seem to be too general (in outlines) and too specific (in sample questions) for me to really glean what I needed. This went over everything and allowed me to review according to my favorite learning style: reading and writing notes! Had to pause a lot to type, so I could have used it to be a little slower, but 50 minutes is a long video so totally understand why it wasn't. This reviewed everything I knew but needed a refresher on, and filled in the holes on where I need to go learn a concept or theory. Thank you so much! I feel a lot more positive about my test now!
THANK YOU, this is a great breakdown. I would also recommend that you do a more in-depth version of this, and sell it as a audio tape. This is very helpful! I would definitely recommend this to my students. I have a PhD in psychology, and I was listening to your breakdown, It was still 100 accurate, despite that error on the name pronunciation of Piaget. All was correct. AGAIN, consider a more in-depth version of this. You're a blessing to all who will listen to this.
