✨🎧 Travis worked with Sky Redhawk and I on our upcoming Sound Journey Sacred Dream. 100% Next leveled the track with his talent and dedication to dialing the tricker parts of the track. His recent work with a few of my other favorite artists has also been stunning. Highly recommend booking him while you can if you have a project you want to sound epic. ✨

Great Video! Thanks for sharing your background and gear set up. Really like how you just recorded this off your iPhone. It felt like we were just hangin' in your studio with you. :)

Excellent video. I really like how creative you are with your techniques and how easy you make it to learn them. Keep thinking out of the box, the world doesn't need more of the same. 10/10 bro, keep them coming.

You are using this tool incorrectly. -6 dB means it is not clipped. These waveforms look as they should. Anything above 0 dB will sound clipped, but ONLY when exporting to a fixed bitrate of 16/24. In your DAW it should not be a problem to go above 0 dB as all DAWs use floating point calculations. What you are doing in this clip is flattening some waveforms, making them more squared, which adds harmonics and makes them sound more saturated.
@Level32Studio
@Level32Studio Месяц назад
First off there’s no “one correct way to use this tool“. That -6 is set as a guideline. I’m not saying that the track is clipping. I’m saying that’s where I like to put my audio at before I mix, and instead of turning an entire track down, just adjusting a few peaks that are going over is fixing MY problem. And if I am adding saturation to it, then so be it, that just adds extra harmonics and flavor. The track that I used for this example, which I did not explain in the video, is a metal track so any added saturation or distortion isn’t necessarily bad, especially if it’s happening within a few samples of time.

@@Level32Studio well, the tool is called De-clip, to fix clipped waveforms
@Level32Studio
@Level32Studio Месяц назад
@@MarcoRaaphorst did you see me hit the render button on the de clip module? No. You saw me pull it up to use it as a guideline to show me where the -6db line is.
@Level32Studio
@Level32Studio Месяц назад
@@MarcoRaaphorst I then used the gain module and or the individual sample points to bring the volume down. I’m really starting to think you didn’t even watch the video the entire way through.
@MarcoRaaphorst

@@Level32Studio I am simply saying this makes no sense. This plugin is meant to fix clipped bits. If you want to limit the peaks, use a limiter.

Your perspective is spot on-I couldn't agree more! Cool things happen when we keep the lines open and make sure we're all on the same page.

100% agree, the cheap route will yield cheap and unsatisfying results and like travis said the engineer can do a much better job if you got to know you and your preferences a little better.
