I get gold prospecting on Lake superior is just a hobby with very little return. But if you did rock hounding for Agates and Other precious stones, you would have much better returns and possibly make a decent profit for your work. The lake superior shoreline is loaded with them.
Deep cycle batteries are a waste of money. They only last about 3 years. Lithium iron phosphate batteries last 20 years or more. And you can use all the power without hurting them.
I upgraded my a52 to the a52s , I was in Fairplay last week , 4/20/2024 , 26° and snowed on me the whole time , but I found some color , not bad for 4hrs
First time seeing your videos! I went to lake Superior two different weeks last summer... im hooked. Met Marty T both times up there... now i have expanded my gold cube to be set up just like his w 5 trays and the banker... cant wait to get back up.. i have 3 week long trips booked already at Muskallonge. Hope to see you out sometime!!!! Heavy pans!!!!
Is that what yall call flour gold.. that's pickers compared to Louisiana you better get your jewelers loop out for what im finding in my creeks.. Also I need to try a high banker setup.. water here is cloudy knee to thigh high low speed and always trys to float my a52 away.. the only way I not the creeks here is enter at a bridge and stay within the banks can't get out of creek channel.
There’s actually lots of nuggets in Michigan. Idk why people say there’s not. Found nuggets in Lake Superior. Found nuggets in Huron River. Clinton River. Marquette. Mt. Pleasant.
None of the spots I work for gold are close to where I park my vehicle. I carry the sluice and my other gear a distance. It gets heavy after carrying it and the rest of my gear. All of the gold in Michigan except for a couple of places is all flour gold. I’m going back to classifying my material before I run it through. I will be trying some dream mat I picked up over the winter.
Along the northern part of the Upper Peninsula along Lake Superior shore the black sands are being pushed out into the lake from the rivers and creeks the black sand makes it out about 50 feet then with the winds pushing south east the black sands get pushed up on the beach. If it was aloud and you could use a dredge you could get a lot of gold but they are not aloud to be used. Take a look at google maps and go east from grand Marais, Michigan
This topic always gets me thinking. Sometimes I wonder about focusing on garnet and other colored crystal sands, to display in glass tubes or offer to crafters.
You will work out a system when it time to clean up time on you’re sluice was wondering do you need a permit for sluice or a gold cube with a reculating set up
Great video thanks! I'm in Oakland County and just getting started. Do you mind if I ask round about where you are? I plan on hanging with the michigan chapter of the GPAA and meeting them in April at Athens. Just trying to get an idea of where people in michigan have been finding gold.
YOUR BREAKING THE LAW!!!! Says the Michigan DNR… I sure hope you have a permit to use this sluice in Michigan because it is illegal here . Permits are issued from July to August ONLY… panning ONLY is fine year round for recreational hunter’s on most rivers creeks and streams but check your local laws and regulations save yourself a huge ticket, it’s to protect our rivers and Fish… Google using a sluice in Michigan to find out more…
Could be none or it could be loaded. All depends on how much gold is in the sand. Sample the sand before you classify 500 gallons to see if it will be worth your time.
@@SilverSleuth I haven't tried this invention yet maybe we could hook up and show me around, I live in Michigan to, and I haven't told anybody about this idea, I know I will be able to run through 500 gallons per day per person other words that's 500 gallons for you to. you just have to keep it under your hat one day I want to get out to Nome Alaska.
Good to see you back out there. I was watching your videos before. I was also gone from prospecting for a while. My firewood business has taken off and takes all my time recently. I would be hitting that spot again with the gold cube asap.
@@SilverSleuth That is terrible! Sorry to hear that. I have an alarm system that is on wifi and sends alerts to my phone. My cameras do the same. Amazon has blink cameras cheap which do that. And you get alerts if your camera goes offline which tells you if someone is messing with your wifi or power. Nasty neighbors led me to this myself.
Hey buddy thanks for the great video now that it's been some time I would like to hear your opinion on how it performs versus the original a52, besides the legs how do you find the upgrade, I have an a52 and am wanting to either add a highbanker/dredge hopper set up or purchase the new kt10 trommel but am unsure if I want to do the conversion as I may just add another 3ft section of sluice to the lower end of my a52 and use various gold hog matting or miracle mat for anything the 52 is missing thanks for your info and looking forward to a response.
@Yukon Nate. Thanks for the reply. I walk a ways when I pack my sluice in and out. Everything I carry is weight. The more weight I carry the more work it is for me. Most of the time, I do not have enough water flow for it to work effectively. I live in Michigan and most of the gold I find is flour gold. I have have been classifying my material and using it without the super sluice upgrade. I still use the adjustable legs but they also added weight.
Nice to see you out in the field again I'm from cedar springs and go to the rouge river now and then when I see your video'sit gives me some hope of finding something I got a few specks here and there at least there is someone from the area doing the same thing the rookie
Thanks James! I had several pieces of my equipment that came up missing that I had to replace. I hope whoever has them is putting them to use. My son graduated this year and the “band dad” is freed up again. My sons school(Otsego) played in the Red Flannel band competition every year. There is bigger gold in the rogue, but it’s a designated trout stream.
Hi Justin, Thanks for the comment. I don’t post videos to compete with other RU-vidrs. I post them to help people learn. Unfortunately I didn’t have 6 hours to drive to Lake Superior to film a video and 6 hours to drive back. I hope you enjoyed the video and watched the whole video. There is something in the video I have never seen Jason or anyone else do and it produced gold.
