I'm a young farmer, working to get my family back into the farming business. We started in 2013 with nothing but a small tractor and been growing the operation ever since. We primarily work with alfalfa hay, but also deal in custom work. As a lot of my equipment is old, I also have videos on repairing old farm equipment. Additionally, I'm a mechanical engineer so some of that shows up in my videos, out on the farm. On top of all that, I'm a family man. A lot of what I'm doing on the farm is to provide and preserve the farming way of life for all the children in my family.
The rotators from Nelson do a pretty good job. Although i've heard Komet's twisters are starting to gain popularity now. And their droplet size is much better. The Nelson SR100 is a icon. Show's how well they're built, with proper service they last forever. I've seen some used SR100s in my day, some rust stained and used almost daily, and they just keep on workin'. I like them better than the komet made guns. At least Nelson doesn't make their guns plastic. Seen one that was completely destroyed by a squirrel. The farmer got a SR100 Nelson and i bet his little squirrel chewing problem ends there.
Thanks for the info and the subscribe, I'll have to get a few on hand for when they go out. Just subscribed to your channel, looks like some great videos.
I bale Timothy and Orchard grass with a 5050 SSB. 2nd and 3rd. cuttings are always a struggle in that the grasses are fine and it takes a lot of back pressure to pack out the bales. Then they are never very uniform or tight. My thinking is that the Baleskiis might be a big help. My concern is that all feedback that I read is around alfalfa, and this is a grass situation, not alfalfa. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Regards
If you have a hard time getting the weight up, these will definitely help. They're good in dry alfalfa but make it hard to keep the bale weight down when the dew starts to set.
yeah, I think so. they do seem to keep more leaves in the bale in dry conditions and have dramatically reduced pressure needed to set the weight. Although, if you bale in humid conditions they will make it difficult to keep from making heavy bales.
I discovered this knot years ago......I also think it is better than a square knot.....Works real well on 450 knot strength twine in the Bale Baron....
If anyone is interested in getting a system, I could provide a complete unit for $1800, depending on how many linear actuators you'd need. I wish it was cheaper but the parts list alone is close to $1000. Reply below if you're interested and we'll see if we can work something out. Thanks!
Hi. I just found your videos. I have a 1034. Recently purchased. The load rack is constantly jamming halfway down. It seems to be doing it if the bales are slighly out of consistent size. Does your 1034 do the same and if it does how did you solve it.

There worked well for me. I do believe they reduce the leaf loss in alfalfa and also reduce the necessary bale chamber pressure. In alfalfa, when the humidity gets borderline high it becomes difficult to keep the bale weight down. In grass, I think they could be helpful by either decreasing bale chamber pressure or allowing for denser bales. I'm not sure they have the same value proposition if you're baling primarily grass. I bought mine from my local New Holland dealer, but you can also buy them direct from bale skiis.
@@Xealuz ya I called and talked to them I think after I'm done baling for the year I'm gonna order a set and install this winter. I thank you for your reply
@@Xealuz providing how well they work will see how much u helped me! Haha if I remember I'll try coming back to give ya a update how they are on straight grass
Good question. I certainly could have, but I would have had to run two very long hoses from the back of the tractor all the way to the attachment point on the loader. Then, I would have to disconnect those hoses from the grapple and the rear of the tractor if I need the scv's. The valve was $165, I bet I would spend a decent amount of that if I bought 2 really long hoses. In hindsight, I wouldn't have bought the flat-face couplers...
This is pretty smart! Very good job! If you are going to put up small square bales you have to have a bale wagon!! Mine is very old!! Don't know the number, but is only holds 70 bales, self propelled with a Wisconsin 4 cylinder torque monster, and open cockpit but works like a charm, and you can always count on it!! Makes it a one man operation!!! Again, very good job!!
@@Xealuz New holland!! It is a 10 something or another. I just cant remember the number!! Has to be one of the first ones made!!1 It is extremely handy in a barn!!!
I bale with a 320 also!! does not have all the bells and whistles like yours does though!! Mine is an excellent baler!! Has gone well over 2000 bales without a miss tie!! works like a charm!! The only time it ever miss ties is when I grease the knotter, but then it is only a couple of bales!! Good luck to you!!
I totally agree, the 320 is excellent! I just wish it wasn't 40+ years old. I need to go through it her before the season. Have you ever rebuilt the plunger bearings?
Underneath the floormat on the right side is a metal plate you can remove to get to 2 large plugs and plastic covers to get cables into the cab and under the cover to the right of the seat is a 6pin (I think) DEUTSCH connector which run the H3 H4 Soft ride and some other 12V signals (at least in the EU version)

Very clever! Would you be willing to sell me a parts list and where to buy the parts. I also have a enclosed cab and would like to operate the stacker from a enclosed cab. Or if your buyer doesn't want the system would you sell it to me? I have a New Holland 1033. Thanks
The system sold with the wagon, ill have to look into the parts list and see what I can pull together. I'd be able to flash the code onto the arduino, but may be a bit difficult to get everything detailed out enough so someone else could get it wired. That said, the linear actuators are $140 each on Amazon, so 5x is $700, probably figure $150 for electrical components, enclosure and miscellaneous. Let me know if you still have appetite for the project knowing base cost. If your still interested, I could put some more thought into putting another system together and how much time it would take me. Let me know.
@@Xealuz Thank you for your response. The cost is ok. I found a good used 1033 for $500 so I have room to improve it. Let me know what would do to communicate the parts sourcing and details of install. Thanks
Have you put together your parts list and schematics yet? Price for that info? I’m dialed on the linear actuators with potnetiometer, mounts and that part, just need the wiring and board stuff. Did you use any relays in his system? Thanks

Dude... I have a NH S1049, a NH216 and Hesston 1340.... same balewagon, rake and cutter. Not sure what that means, but cool. However, we've recently upgraded the mower. The hesston may be at the end of days.
Thanks for the great suggestion. I just finished baling my 2nd cutting alfalfa so I'll try to shoot a quick video on my experience with the skiis so far.
You can! A friend of mine took his on a trip from Colorado to California and back. Kids were streaming videos the whole way. Of course it will be contingent on having usable signal.

@@Xealuz I check in from time to time to see if you have a video... Been keeping an eye out for a 18 bale grapple. Hard to find. Expensive to order. The way I want to use it makes sense in my head. Only seen a few examples on youtube though. Understandably, hard to post videos in middle of season. I havent posted in a long time. Working at a job and doing hay kind of takes out the time and energy.
I'm in the same boat as you, regular job, farm, family... YT has to take the back seat. It's frustrating because I film stuff but can't get it put up.
