After struggling with other methods trying to get a flat tire off my Tacoma, I tried this one and it worked! You, sir, are a steely-eyed missile man. Thank you!
great tip....but what about flat tyres? Maybe a wedge connected to the rim somehow? I've never tried it out but maybe lifting the tyre in question and then using a car jack connected with the other tyre (on the ground) should work = from tyre on the ground to other tyre's rim lifted = solution to remove stuck flat tyre?!
Well done I will definitely use it in the morning. And/or definitely use it when I'm out on the road. Which was my biggest concern if I did have any compromise tire. Again, well done.
Right now your the greatest 😢❤😊 I love u man I freaking love u haven't even started but the fact I was on to the same thinking only makes u that much greater I wouldn't have thought of that
Decided to change the front and rear wheels on the Audi. Both rears stuck fast! Watched a lot of videos on how to free it and this idea made sense. Thank you for the idea as it worked on both my rear wheels. Now cleaned and high melt compound applied if I have a flat they should come off.
I'll try this but I have my doubts, the wheels are basically rust welded on. Update: Yeah this definitely didn't work. I ended up just cutting around the hub and bought new rims.
I just used a long 4x4 and a scissor jack put the 4x4 against the other tire and put the scissors jack on the tire that’s seized hook a good impact and let her eat!!!
Genius, I didn’t feel comfortable kicking my tyre or hitting it with a hammer as shown in other videos, particularly when the car is lifted up on the jack. I used a small piece of wood and the wheel released very easily and safely - 10/10! 👍
This technique helped me today. My situation was more difficult because I was taking off a flat tire that was punctured. I inflated the tire with an air compressor and it held air long enough for this to work!
genius, but im not sure about the part where both your hands are just under the wheel and the car is held by a scissor jack without a jackstand. looked dangerous to me
I tried 5 other methods and none worked. This one worked. I put a piece of wood under the tire, lowered the jack, and sat in the seat opposite the wheel. As soon as my butt hit the seat, I heard a pop. The pop of success! The wheel cane right off after that.
Oh my god, thank you so much for this! My tire was shredded, so none of the other solutions were working/possible, but this got it done in less than 5 minutes.
This is the best method. No kicking, no hammering, no driving your car with lose nuts or DIY special tools. Around 1:56 he said 'on the outside of the tire' but I guess he meant: on the inside, as the video shows. I used a 3/8" thick piece of wood and that was enough to do the trick. Thank you for this great tip!
here in Europe, in the dryer parts...... upon removing your wheels, why not use a type of paste or grease as to where the wheel goes onto your axle ect ect. When I use or encounter anything with a thread. I use COPPER SLIP. Basically a grease compound having COPPER as it's base. Nice as it never rusts. Excellent on anything with a thread.
