Hi I'm Dan, Detectorist, Podcaster and XP Brand Ambassador, Dad of 2 and firm believer in second breakfast. Join me on my journey finding all sorts of rubbish in the wild Northern Irish countryside!
How you found anything out about your palm guard looking lead piece? I found one just like that but mine had a design in the middle. I was told that palm guards were bigger than that so who knows.
Unreal day Dan! Well done on your first gold! To me it looked like Thanks Anne or Anna was scraped in on the back of the ring. The coin is Definitely george 3rd young head and I think your little coins might be farthing tokens. Looked like lettering in the middle of one. Unbelievable dig! Well done again mate 😊
@@paul50pb right enough mate, it's illegal to detect for archeology In Ireland. Im in Northern Ireland, however, which is still part of the UK, so it's a different case up here. 😊
Some great finds there Dan, love the seated quarter! It’s funny how we go away to all these weekenders and find barely anything and then get home and find some lovely bits 🎉 Well done 👍 all the best, Julie 😊
@@Dans_digs I sometimes think one of the US soldiers may have carried it as a lucky penny or it was sent home by an emigrant. This hobby raises more questions than answers Dan.
That's really rough ploughed that lad isn't it.. like the Himalayas😅 I can't detect that deep ploughed stuff I snap me ankles trying haha.. get him to roll it for you mate or get on it after the harvest it's much easier going and can be very good ploughed pal💪💪 good luck you and lisa 👍👍
Saw that atlas, was up on Plumbridge. RAF low level training. I thought my tractor had broken, this rumble. The plane was in the valley below me, was unbelievable
Heey sorry only seeing this, I just got it on amazon mate, only like 15 quid - it's not great to be honest, a lot of movement - think il get a better one next time
Hey bud, the ace 300 is a grand wee starter machine, but is quite outdated - for similar money now you could start off with a Minelab vanquish, or the garret Vortex, or the Xterra Elite. Pick one of those, and make u sure you shop at a proper dealer, not amazon. Regton.com or crawfords MD or LP metal Detecting, something like that.
@@Dans_digs Great thank you very much! Would you know a shop close to the london area by any chance? I really wanna find gold or something old lol! Also, how come not amazon? Is it quite dodgy ?
@@Crypto_LoverXD well all the stores I've mentioned are based in UK but no sure where physically. They all have great websites - and it's just much better to support the businesses directly. Plus, they provide much better after support incase you have any issues down the line. 😊 And you can get 10% off accessories on Regton with our podcasts discount code - TTPOD. Or on crawfords with TALES10 If that's any good to you haha
@@Dans_digs Yeah thank you very much indeed! I'm a slightly paranoid person so I will drive all the way to birmingham to pick up the detector lol! Going to regton store, I guess out of curiosity which metal detector would you say is best for about 300-500 quid =). Thank u !! May I ask, whats the coolest / most expensive thing you've found?
