Rand Paul is absolutely disgusting! Yes, the NIH has funded research at Wuhan. But Wuhan does a lot of research. Little of that research involves gain of function. When the NIH was funding them it was for research that did not involve gain of function. Paul also fails to mention that gain of function has had some wonderful results. Antibodies that we use to treat disease can be altered to reproduce faster using gain of function. This makes more available. That's the real reason for this kind of research. The separation of powers between the three branches of government does not allow the head of the executive to be subject to scrutiny without impeachment by congress and conviction by 2/3 of Senate.
