I Have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome Surgery On Right Wrist In 2010 Failed Injections Need Have An Emg Testing On Both Wrists Again More Injections Facing Surgery Again
I have been doing a lot of these everyday to stabilize my shoulders after 30 years of swinging a hammer etc. I have noticed muscle gains in chest, arms and shoulders.
Is there a higher chance of recurrence with injection vs surgery? If i have thickening and bulging of the cord as shown here, but fingers work fine, should i be concerned? Thanks.
Senior citizen of 75 years here and I had three injections of Xiaflex on three different fingers a few years ago. Yes, my fingers saw some straightening but with 18 months they had returned to their pre-Xiaflex condition. Everyone's condition is different, of course, so best to you all in finding a successful path to combat this affliction.
A great question, Scott! Depending on your specific symptoms and what you + your surgeon decides is the best treatment plan, Trigger Finger and Carpal Tunnel Surgery are typically done at Outpatient Surgery Centers (such as our OrthoCarolina Mallard Creek Surgery Center). There also is a consideration of where does your specific surgeon perform surgeries and what does your insurance cover. We recommend discussing location of surgery with your surgeon for best answer here!
We totally get it - good news for those not wanting to change too much is there are great options for cases out there - our marketing team likes the Loopy Case as well as a PopSocket for reference.
Your weight selection will be up to you and your ability/safe challenge for yourself. Be mindful of your lower back throughout the movement and modify with lighter weight as needed.
even with lower weights, this workout can give you a run for your money, especially if your back and leg muscles aren't ready start as low as you can, work on your form and balance and work your way up, imo
I had chrondomalasia surgery exactly a month ago and I still need crutches to walk. If I put my body weight on my operated knee without crutches my knee has a sharp pain...is this normal after a month ? It's not swollen at all
Hi Olga, we are sorry to hear about your sharp pain in your knee. Due to the nature of the chondroplasty providing a fresh surface, the combination of that and weight bearing could be the source of your pain. Have you followed up with your surgeon?
Thank you for your question. There are a lot of factors that go into properly answering this question for you. It is dependent on how the injury was sustained, the patient's age and activity level, and their goal on returning to life/sport. We recommend to consult with an Orthopedic Specialist for best recommendations based on specifics of your case.
@@orthocarolina I see. Thanks for the answer. I already went to two experts and they recommended me different treatments. I guess I have to trust one and pull through then :)
I have Lt knee Patella Baja after failed Lt Total Ahtroplasty in 2012. NOW my Rt knee is having a lot of arthritis complications and surgical intervention is what 3 Dr's have recommended. But I'm very fearful of the outcome. I'm also & first off wanting to know if there is anything other than amputation that can fix the Patella Baja in my Lt. Knee??
Thank you for your comment, we are so sorry to hear that you are dealing with Patella Baja and we know how tough of a problem this can be. If you are local to Charlotte or the surrounding area, we would recommend seeing one of our OrthoCarolina joint replacement specialists as they can go over specific options that you would be a candidate for based on your condition. To answer your question about if there are other options other than amputation (generally speaking as we do not know about your specific condition enough to give medical advice especially over the internet), there are -- they include patellar tendon lengthening or Z-plastic to increase length of the patellar tendon. Please note, this comment was sourced and researched by our Marketing Team and is not intended as a replacement to professional medical advice.
