Today I noticed after waking the computer out of sleep mode. I did notice that problem. It was easily corrected by just shutting down and restarting. As soon as I did that, Airport found the network immediately.
No problems here. I have been pretty lucky. When I first installed snow leopard I didn't run into any problems. And now after there latest update, still problem free. Occasionally, Ichat takes time to connect but my airport connection has always worked great for me.
A mi me pasa exactamente, la verdad es que pensaba que Snow Leopard iba a ser una gran herramienta, pero con este fallo me está decepcionando muchisimo, es una lástima que después de tanto tiempo de espera y retrasos, acaben habiando fallos tan elementales como estos. Ojala la actualización 10.6.2 corrija este error, sino, se tendrán que tomar medidas...

i had the same problem i fixed it by going to finder/libary/preferences and delete every in that folder. i restarted the mac and created a new network location and alls working for me now :D
After the upgrade it said my airport works fine but nothing works internet-related! Safari, iChat, and iTunes and whatever else don't work although it says the airport works fine! Anyone know whats wrong?
Sorry you guys had that problem. However when I upgraded to snow leopard everything was great. I have verizon fios for internet and had NO problems recodnizing my network. So far I have had a great experience.
Had the same problem, but fixed it by creating a new location under Network Preferences. It's typically set to "Automatic". After creating a new location and selecting it, the airport properly turns on and off and (so far) connects to wireless networks. Worth a try. . .
