Only 40 mins drive for me..I love it up there..I try to take two cars ,so you can walk down from castle and drive back up the hill..Am very lucky to have this on my doorstep 🎉🌲🌳🌴

What have they done to my beloved Hemel?, my dad worked in the BP building crossing the road next to the Wagon & Horses, I used to have footy training on the fields where Tesco is & my mate went to Mountbatten school. All gone.

Yes, they have what was once a wooden gypsy caravan that has been converted into a toilet/shower block, and a couple of mobile shower blocks that are neat and tidy.

I moved to the US in '82. Lived in Lewsey Farm. I remember many times walking to dunstable. I cannot believe the KFC is still in the exact same place. I'm actually blown away by that... nothing seems to change in England
Random question, but do they check inside your camper? We have a van we are doing up as a camper, but it's not finished yet and read the T & C's which says you must have certain fixed items just wondering if we would get away with it as it looks like a camper from the outside.
Yes, they very briefly checked ours, but they weren't very thorough, I think they were more interested to see if we had any person in the back, or stupid amounts of alcohol! Otherwise they didn't seem too bothered, so I am sure you will be fine 🙂

I left Dunstable about 10 years ago after the passing of my husband. I thought the town was gradually going downhill but you have proven me wrong. It looks beautiful now.Thank you.
I grew up there from 1963 to 1975. The town centre was all new and lovely when we arrived, I believe it went downhill later and some of the hastily constructed buildings (like the Shell Mex & BP computer centre which bridged Marlowes just before the Magic Roundabout) had to be pulled down. But looking at this, it appears to have smartened up again which is good to see. I still recognise some features, like the iconic(!) yellow panelling on that building at 09:00, which was also used to adorn matching a covered footbridge spanning Marlowes. The bus station used to be just across the river from the water gardens, with the outdoor market behind it. Basically, that area shown at 6:15 on the video. I believe the market was a deliberate feature by the new town planners, to make all the cockneys feel at home (the new town was to accommodate “overspill” population from ageing substandard housing in London.)
Why not? It was something I enjoyed doing at the time, also consider it was it during covid, so I was being quite cautious where I walked. If you have any tips on what I could have done better, let me know.

Hey! You guys were camped only a few plots from us in camper plus, cool vid and seeing it again gave some Downloads over blues 🥲 haha. not sure if you guys had a similar issues but half the staff there kept trying to send us on really long routes to the village, that tunnel for example we used on several occasions to and from the arena, sometimes they let us through and sometimes said no 🤷♂️
