I know this is an old video but what should I do if none of the steps work? My imac also has a weird red light coming out from the headphone port that i can’t get rid of.
It must be something that's glitching out the audio. It happens when two things are competing for the same thing. For example, if the speakers are playing music and the headphones are connected and trying to play music then your computer automatically Turns off audio as a protective mechanism This is the usual scenario, although it might not be your case specifically.
Yes I believe that is the case bc when I would go to any video call and try to fix the sound issue from the video call (before finding your video) it always said something like, another application is trying to use the microphone and speaker, but I can’t find this other application
