Sprong should absolutely NOT signed back to the roster. Absolute defensive liabilty creating 1.105 high value chances for the other team per game. He has a snapshot and that is it. OHL star, NHL dog. You can't preach defense on a team and give him any ice time. Roster is better left open for the young bloods to develop. Cheaper than 2 mil a year and better long term payout.
Kaner is far from the end of his career. The Blackhawks made a huge mistake by letting him go. As a mentor to Bedard and the rest of this veteran roster they could still be unstoppable.
I love it. Kane makes the players around him better. He's a stabilizing presence in the locker room and will always have elite hockey smarts no matter what age.
As an Yzerfan.I hope he is resigned. I coached little ceasers teams in midmich for over two decades and believe his value in the locker room is just as valuable as on the ice.
Detroit needs a center and stamkos is a free agent. I understand the video. But lol. He is probably resigning with Tampa. Also stamkos is the wrong type of center that Detroit needs. Detroit needs more of a two way center that is stronger defensively and can win faceoffs. They don’t need a 80 point guy. Just a 40 point guy that checks those boxes.
I'm glad to see someone talking about this. Daniel Sprong needs to be resigned by the Wings. He was a solid player and is a major part of the chemistry the young Wings are showing now. Frankly, I was surprised that the Kraken let him walk. He was a $2m bargain and provided strong secondary scoring for the team. He's also a good two-way player with defensive responsibility skill. He probably has a raise coming, and the question is will another NHL team ante up for his services.
As a Dutchman I will say that he still is a good player for a 3rd or 4th line. Maybe give him a few more minutes icetime each game, could increase his scoring points. You said he is a player who has also defensive reponsibility skills. Responsibility, yes, but his defensive skills are not that good to be honest ( Sorry, but that's my opinion ). Never the less, I think he still is a good addition to any NHL team. I would like to see him play for the Blackhawks if he has to leave the Red Wings.
No no no! He doesnt hit, grind or anything. Just coasts around waiting for everyone else to do ALL the work, then feed him the puck. Tavares, same thing. Youth is needed and waaay cheaper.
up and down. disappeared completely for a couple months and has to get that temper under control, he let guys get under his skin multiple times and singlehandedly lost us a few tied games with bad late penalties. seems like an overall plus though, especially with better D. comes back to the D every time with this team, it was absolutely horrible for about 1/3 of our games this year, just drifting all over looking lost half the time
