Hello! Welcome to my channel! I am a former VIPKID teacher and have taught thousands of students English as a Second Language over the past 5 years.
I made videos for English learners when I was teaching on the Hallo: Learn English app. I no longer work for VIPKID or HALLO. Now I teach students independently on my own terms. You can contact me anytime if you are interested in private (or group lessons).
On this channel, I am offering videos of Everyday English in America (USA). Every month will have a different theme we will focus on.
The journey has just begun -- I believe in YOU! Have faith and let's do this together!
It's my first year doing colour guard and I'm so happy that there are videos like this to help, because I'd be absolutely *struggling*. I can do Drop spins, Front mazes, Virginias and Figure eights almost perfectly now and I'm so proud of myself. This year apparently there were the most sign ups of twenty two people! Our instructor was very overwhelmed and ecstatic at the same time.
Ahh I was in colorguard at WAHS in 2009-2010 the best time I’ve ever had in high school besides marching band lol now I work at a high school as a TA and about to apply for their jv colorgurd coach. ☺️☺️☺️☺️🥰🥰🥰🥰 so excited but nervous to do the interview and hoping to get the job!
If I don’t have like a flag to practice with what can I use to practice? My mom keeps sending me videos of color guard to tryout in 10th grade and so I am really wanting to learn but I don’t know what to use to practice
Go to this channel. You can practice with a broom. Plus the great thing about guard is they teach you everything you need to know. Just go with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. ru-vid.com
@@EverydayEnglishUSAthank you! Just coming back to this comment after finishing my first year of color guard and starting my first year of Winter guard in a few weeks.😊
Its crazy to see what other guards calls their motions, I've never heard of extensions before. We call figures 8s Carves, and then the flutters we cal them flourishes
Well it would be ur first year anyway. Plenty, and I mean Plenty, of amazing guard members have started off like everyone else. Thats not something to worry about bc thats what they are supposed to teach you
With guard they teach you what you need to know. That's what so great about this activity! Just go in with a positive attitude and willingness to try. :)
Glad you like them! We are no longer doing Pat Med... So I think they will do only Roll On for the 4th of July Parade in the future. We do have a new song 'March of the Armed Forces' we are learning. I will post that one once it's done. :)
This is by far, the best video on an idea for an escape room! Literally took something I was dreading creating and now it feels SO much more doable! Thank you for creating this! 🙌
I'm so glad! I also think it's easier and more fun to work through with the students all together. We do it online together via zoom and the kids comment answers to me in the chat privately. I respond with Yes or No if they are correct and then give a count down or hints if needed. Ask Students to share answers, etc. It works out great.
Here is my profile on a web browser. Go here and click on "follow" www.app.hallo.tv/profile/KHtYeDRRO1co3UpjcMlHZZO7k3E2 Or you can look for me with the name @teacherjohnni in the Hallo app
I agree. We have a new guardie from another state this year and we talk about what her guard calls things vs what we call things. And I learned many of my terms from the Fred J Miller camps back in the 90's . LOL
No, I gave them the story line (back story). Then showed a slide. We read through the slide, and then the next slide was an activity. In the zoom chat I have it set to "respond to teacher privately". for all participants. As students answered I comment things like, we have some answers coming in, Suzie is correct. Great job! While the rest of you are working... Suzie can you _____? I think of something to keep Suzie busy. If the time starts to run long I give a count down or some clues. To help it along. (I allowed about 15 minutes per challenge). Repeat this process. Each clue built on itself and they had to have paper and pen and make notes of what they were solving. It worked out quite well.
Question- I thought we were unable to use these types of sites for Outschool classes. Do you know for sure? I’m slightly confused about the copyright laws
What do you mean by other types of sites? I share RU-vid videos for songs we do together. But it's me sharing the video with no ads. Not me sending the kids there independently. They don't have access to the video. I do let the parents know the channels and videos so they can subscribe. I always ask them to subscribe and support the YT creator. You have to be careful though because some YT creators do not want you to share their content, no matter what. So it's always safer to ask. If you don't save a recording of it for future viewing that helps with getting permission.
Have you tried TurtleDiary yet? The web address is www.turtlediary.com. You can play on any browser. Just open a new browser on your computer, iPad, or phone. Which games are your favorite? Would you like me to show you how to play any of the games? Or explain WHY you would choose the answers? Sometimes we think we know the answer, but we can't explain why. Or you would like more explanation of WHY it's correct, or why it isn't correct. Let me know down below! I look forward to hearing from you.
Pass the buck - have you ever passed the buck to someone else? Check out what that means before you answer below. I know as a child, I passed the buck to my younger brothers many times.
