My channel is mostly about Butterflies. I started to raise Monarch Butterflies over the last few years. I have found it interesting and have learned a lot. I hope to learn more and to pass that on to others. This channel will be for children as well as adults. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do.
Hiii I don’t know if you can still see these or not but I recently started raising my own caterpillar of the same breed and was wondering how you could tell when they’re starting to cocoon? Because I have to clear his jar out every day and im scared of interrupting his progress :(
That’s a carpenter bee. The main difference is the abdomen. Bumblebees are typically known for their fuzzy black and yellow abdomen, while carpenter bees have shiny, smooth abdomen.
Can I pet a queen bumblebee? I know they search for nesting spot and mate with males up in the air, so I figure I leave queens alone and only pet workers or males.
Wow aphids eat the eggs too? I was lavjng them alone for lady bugs to eat. And lady bugs eat the eggs too? 😨 damn it. I’ll get rid of the aphids and squash them straight away. I lose my baby butterflies to wasps usually that I can see at least.
Hi! It’s june, and I’m really worried about my woolly bear. This is my first time raising a woolly bear, but I’ve raised many moths before. I took them home a couple weeks ago and put them in a container with lots of dandelions and clovers like I was told, and have been spritzing it with water every other day, along with providing fresh leaves. I noticed a couple days after bringing them home that they had stopped moving. I knew this was normal, and that this one I had brought was close to cocooning. However, it’s been a few weeks and they remain curled in a ball and I’m very worried that something has gone wrong. Could my caterpillar be sick? Or even worse, could they be dead?
It is. I was told it had already hatched so I took it to my room where a few days later I had become a proud mom of a million baby all over my room. I saved all I could.
I have passion flowers on the fence next to my house. The bumblebees get drunk off them and fall asleep on them and I pet them on a regular basis when they do
When I had giant marigolds, I had a couple of pet bumble bees 🐝 who would sleep 🛌 inside the flowers at night, they’d cover themselves with the petals like it was a blanket. They’re so cute, love them. I wouldn’t pet the bees too much, their fuzz is delicate, wings too, can accidentally damage them.
Bees are quite chill away from their nest or hive. Petting them is quite easy, and for some reason many think it's strange or daring. The bees themselves don't seem to care too much.
Yes... i have found chilled wasps in the mornings. They wake in the palm of your hand, and aren't anxious to sting. Sun and sugary water, if available, help them. The wasp landed on my chest, otherwise I wouldn't pick one up
Idk man I’ve seen angry bees and nice bees my entire life just depends on there situation I guess wasps however will always sting you I hate wasps ugh bees are friends
Nice video. The bee in the marigold looks big enough to be a queen. Did you build a bumble bee house for your backyard? There are several nice DIY videos.
As long as you are not near a bee's nest they generally will not sting you. Even killer bees are usually docile when they are far from the hive. When I was a kid I would pick up wild honey bees in my hand and pet them.
