During his early 20's Antony D'oliveira, felt that something had to change in his life...

On October 17th, 2013, he decided to embark on a journey to the unknown.

All he wanted back then was to embrace life to step out of his comfort zone and see what the world had to offer. He had no idea what was waiting for him, all he knew was his desire to explore Mother Earth. So he started to walk, hitchhike, even sailing from there he knew everything was possible!

Over the years, travelling became a way to stand for his rights... He realised that travelling as a black man gave him a different perspective. He believes that society needs to be more diverse and inclusive ... His goal is to raise awareness of racial inequality, violation of human rights, and by the same token search for efficient solutions to create a better world. This focus gives him strength to continue sharing the knowledge and experiences he gains with the people he meets on every edge of the world.

This is a very interesting video, and I don't think your claims are wrong per se. Where you and I disagree is in your belief that America is particularly racist, especially among Western nations. Firstly, like many other Western nations today, America is a very diverse country; but unlike other Western nations, America is not exactly monocultural. Nordic countries, for example, are monocultural, where the majority of people are one race AND one culture. Germany is like the US in that it is diverse too, but it is unlike the US in that it is monocultural--it is distinctly German. Those who refuse to assimilate to German culture or refuse to learn the German language will struggle in Germany in ways that those same people might not in the US. Additionally, even for non-native German people who do try to assimilate to German culture and to the German language, they too struggle to be fully accepted by many native Germans. I have read sad stories online from foreigners who moved to places like Germany and even France and feel rejected by the native populations no matter how hard they try to conform. To go back to my claim that America is not monocultural, the US is about 71% Caucasian. But what does that mean exactly? In America, people are Caucasian if they have roots in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa--all three regions being very diverse themselves! So although the majority population of the US is Caucasian, is one race, it is not like being a Caucasian person in Sweden, or Norway, or Germany, or Albania, etc. and automatically being a member of the default race or default ethnicity. Therefore, race and ethnicity is a pretty stark dividing line in America. You have many "tribes" of people competing with each other for space and power and wealth, on top of the fact that this country is very much an individualistic one like you mentioned. America is very much a zero-sum game country, and for that reason you do have tensions between peoples in ways that you might not in countries like Germany or France or Sweden. But that does not mean that European countries are less racist than America! It is so easy to be from a monocultural country like Albania, where the majority of people you deal with daily look like you and think like you and act like you, and to say, "Well, I'm not racist like those Americans!" Of course not! But only because people like that have never been forced to live around others who are different than themselves. For that reason, I think Americans, although having some conceptions and feelings about race and ethnicity that are not moral or well informed, still do a good job of letting people live the way they want to. There is not as much of a driving force to conform to a monoculture like there is in European countries. Lastly, you mentioned a couple of times in your video about black Americans making fun of Africans. I've heard this from black Americans too, and I think it stems from two sources: First, that Africans were involved in the slave trade that included kidnapping and selling and profiting off the lives and bodies of black people who would eventually become Americans. There is something of a resentment, then, that black Americans possess toward Africans. Second, Africans themselves are not entirely accepting of black Americans as Africans! A famous example is Barack Obama who visited his family in Kenya decades ago. His sister recorded his stay, and he and she talk about him being a foreigner, or a "Wazungu." He used that word himself! And because he could only speak English his family joked that he was a "white among blacks." That video is on RU-vid, and it's titled "Barack Obama in [Kenya]: A Journey in Black and White (A Film by Auma Obama)" Forgive me for the length of this comment, and I am sorry if I have gotten anything wrong! Fantastic video, nonetheless!

One very important fact about America that I forgot to mention is that race and ethnicity are two valuable political variables that politicians across the whole political spectrum are willing to use for their gain, even if that means hurting the country as a whole. The powerful people of America stand to gain even more untold wealth in a divided country.

The sad reality is your people and minority regime that has destroyed everything about this country and don't dare tell me back some safeguard "racism" refute considering the thousands of body cam video events broadcasted on youtube as a starting point example. How nice would it be if some of you led by a higher example, rather continuously using the democratic race card as your scapegoat, and I'm not even a republican.

3:07 A lot of American black people are unfriendly but it is not a personal thing. A lot of truama from American govt. racism institutions. Anyone very different will not get it due to the hip-hop culture is a ball of fire. Then there is the black American muslim population are much more welcoming, but still they can seem unwelcoming to solo traveler. Still not personal though.

There are two political parties in the United States. In my opinion the politics continues to push racism to the front of the political discourse as a political weapon to gain votes. I have never seen it this bad however it dominates the news in this country. The US is very diverse which makes it harder for people to get along.

It is very sad that many Black Americans have no respect nor love for their African brothers. This reminds of my university days. We had a teacher who was a Polish American in the international Islamic university in Malaysia. We had many brothers from different African countries. Our loving white teacher used to say that many Black Americans are involved in crimes and other malice. May African classmates used to attack him for talking bad about Black Americans whom they love a lot. So he used to reply and say "my dear African brothers, believe me if you and I go to America, the black Americans will be ready to aggress and target you first before they target me. They may leave me in peace, but you will be their first victim. You take them to be your brothers in blood, which is good thing. However, they don't share the same feeling with you. Many of them despise you more than they despise whites"

Downtown Los Angeles is huge. What is considered by the locals as Downtown runs about fifteen to twenty miles along Wilshire Blvd, all the way to Santa Monica. There are others who consider Ventura Blvd, another twenty miles in the San Fernando Valley ("The Valley") as Downtown. Just keep in mind what Gladys and the PiPs said: "L.A. Proved too Much For the Boy".
