Yamaha Motor was established in Japan in 1955, and today operates in more than 180 countries worldwide offering the latest in marine outboard engines and water vehicles. For Yamaha boating is a passion, every outboard in the range is the result of over 50 years’ experience on the water. A combination of 50 years of marine specific engine development and 50 years of real world evaluation in the field.
Funny how the boat manufacturers and outboard service industry have pushed big v8s hanging on a transom. I would much rather have two big block inboard v8s with direct drive shafts and a bow thruster.
I am also disappointed they did not come out with a 350 hp. 25 HP increase is a joke. Yamaha has become complacent and is loosing market share to the other manufactures, The problem with being being #1 is staying number #1. Mercury's research and development has been on fire the last couple of years. Yamaha better kick it in the ass or get passed.
Hey what's going on with the F-350? 300 to 425 is a big stretch. At least 350 splits the difference. Are they looking to reintroduce the F-350 to be a baby 425 XTO?
Year, it's a whole new level @ 3 bucks a litre. At today's fuel prices, she cruise's at around 150 to 200 ltrs /HR, that's between 450 to 600 bucks/hr. Hardley warrants a fish.
Jeesssuuuss, my boat, a Rayglass 650 is cruising at 27ltrs/HR let alone trolling,. That's with a 200hp salt water two stroke doing around 50 to 55km/HR properly trimmed with a 23 degree's dead rise.
I love Yamaha outboards and mechanical is the only way to go. Why introduce this digital steering just so that 13 year old can fry its circuitry with his handheld smart phone or worse? I hate electronics! When everyones boat motor quits I hope to have my faraday cage on board or at least my back up SAILS for wind. A magnet would render that little digital steering USELESS :(
All the upgrades seem pretty good except for the tap the button switch to raise and lower your outboards, to put extra electronics to regulate that over a person standing there for 5 extra seconds raising and lowering his outboard is totally fucking stupid in my opinion, if you’re that fucking lazy of a person I don’t wanna know you.
Yamaha is painting motors pearlescent white - and Mercury rolls out a 600hp V-12 with dual props, stationary powerhead, automatic 2 speed transmission, and steerable lower unit.
Yamaha vs Mercury? not even close! v -12 600HP is so far ahead of the 10 year old paint ugly grey Yamaha, 10 years, just to paint them white! Yamaha so far behind!
